My Creative Time~Throwback Thursday Challenge

Hi Everyone,
Happy Tuesday! Back to work we go:(  Before I head off to work for the day, I wanted to play along in My Creative Times~Throwback Thursday Challenge. The challenge was to use any older cart and to use the colors "green" and "yellow" in your project.
I am so dying to get my flip flops on and enjoy the summer. However, it has been rainy and cold here now for the past week. So, I decided to make a card with flip flops on it to brighten my day and to remind me that ...it is right around the corner.

I made this shaped card using my gypsy and Kate's ABC's cartridge to weld the shapes together at 5.50 x 7.59, layer at 4.88 x 3.55. The flip flops were cut from the Life's a Beach cartridge at 3.24 x 3.18 plus the layers. My sentiment is from My Creative Time Stamp set~Have fun in the sun.  The bakers twine from Scrappy Moms. I hope you like it:) Have a great day!

Grillin & Chillin Blog Hop

If you are looking for the Memorial Day Blog Hop please go
HERE

Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion and BugBites first ever Bug Hop Grillin’ & Chillin’ Bug Hop!   I am thrilled to participate~Thank You Barb!
To celebrate the beginning of summer, Barb over at BugBites is hosting two consecutive weekends of Bug Hops.

This weekend it is all about the Grillin’, May 28-30.
If you've come from visiting PATS at http://www.patsscraps.blogspot.com/ then your in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Grillin’ & Chillin’ Bug Hop, click HERE to start from the beginning.
Each designer along the bug trail is featuring a project based on the Grillin’ & Chillin’ theme. What’s more exciting is you can participate too by creating a project and linking it up over at BugBites for a chance to win a Big Prize.

But, there’s a twist. Your project must included at least one Cricut cut and at least one of the critters that have been hidden within some of the bug stop blogs. Be sure to visit all the bug stops to find all your critter choices.

While you are looking for the critters, be sure to check out the blog candy that each designer has to offer you. You don't want to miss out on any of it!

Here is my project for today: I made a Block Party invitation. It seems someone is always having a block party BBQ so I decided to host our very 1st Block Party on our street this summer. This is the invite that I will be mailing out. I also have a little treat for all the kids that come that day. I hope you get inspired by the idea, doesn't is sound like fun??

I used the Block Party Cricut Lite and the Create a Critter cartridges for this project. The card base is 5 1/2, base layer 5 3/8. I cut the chef at 4 1/2 plus layers, grill at 3 1/4 plus layers, Block Party at 2 1/4, BBQ at 3/4, and the drink at 3/4" plus layers. I cut the cute little worm at 1 x .84 using my gypsy to hide feature so I could use my PK stamp for the cute face.  I made the little pillow pouches from a SU die cut. I embossed it with the swiss dots folder and cut another little worm, this one at 1.67 x 1.40. The sentiment~Party Time is from My Scrappy Moms~The Charmed Life. I filled them with..kids all time favorite gummies.....gummi worms, yum!
I also have another critter on my project~which is the "hidden" critter for the challenge. Please look for it in my project as you may need it as one of your options for the challenge you play in. The bee was cut at 2" plus layers from Kate's ABC's cartridge using the baby bee only. Hint-Hint!

Now for some Blog Hop Candy:
1.) Must be a follower
2.) Please leave a comment on this post for a chance to win along with a way to reach  you.

I will pick a winner at random on May 31st.***please note, due to shipping I can only accept USA & Canada entries***

Next stop... is MELISSA over at http://melspurplegiraffe.blogspot.com/ See what she has in store for you today.
Remember, once you have hopped to all the bug stops, it's your turn to show us your Grillin’ & Chillin’ project.
Make sure to include a Cricut cut somewhere on your project, include one of the hidden critters and link up your project over at BugBites by Midnight CST May 30 to be eligible for the big prize.

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion and the MEMORIAL DAY BLOG HOP hosted by SYLVIA over at http://bellascrapbookdesigns.blogspot.com/. I am so honored and thrilled that Sylvia asked me to participate in this hop. Thank you so much Sylvia!!!

This hop is about showing our Patriotism and Gratitude to those serving in the Armed Forces. These cards are made with Love to Thank those Men and Women who are serving our country and allowing us all to sleep a little bit better at night. May God Bless them and keep them safe. These cards will be donated to Bazzill Basics Paper who has agreed to help a little boy named Stephen in AZ who would like to send 180,000 cards to the troops by July 1st.
If you have come from Rebecca's blog, then you are in the right place. If you are just visiting my blog and would like to play along then please start at Sylvia's  Blog over at (www.bellascrapbookdesigns.blogspot.com) this hop is full of talented ladies and giveaways too.

I am so thrilled to be able to create cards to send over to the Troops. This is awesome!  It is such a great way for us to reach the soldiers to let them know that we "appreciate" them and "thank" them for there service to our great country!
Here are some patriotic cards that I will be forwarding in the mail to Bazzill Basics Paper to help Stephen reach his goal. Please see at bottom of this post for additional information.

For the forth card~ I used a SU set called~ Riveting for the thanks so much. I used the SU border punch at the bottom of the card and the SU circle and scallop punch and some ribbon to tie it together.
For the  fifth card~ I used a SU set~God Bless America stamp and layered it and the card. I added a star from Baby Steps cut at 1" and 1 1/4.  I then tore a little accent colors to layer on the bottom, embossed  and  punched a star out and finished it up with adding a little ribbon.
***I hope I have inspired you a little and you decide to make a few cards and join in. I know when my son was in Iraq for 13 months, he appreciated ALL mail! I remember when he said there were soldiers that never got any mail, that just brought tears to my eyes. Your friendship means the world to me...

Hi Everyone,
I thought I would change things up a bit..... I decided I would make a card today WITHOUT using my cricut. Can you believe it?  It do have to say, it did seem a little strange not turning my cricut on. For this card,  I used a Stampin Up stamp set called~Wings of Friendship.
My card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I matted the image with 2 layers: 3 5/8 x 3 3/8, 3 3/8 x 3 1/8. I used pattern paper from Making Memories 6 x6 mini~Sabrina. The ribbon, brads and belt is also from Making Memories. It seemed a little strange not using my cricut but I am happy with the way it turned out! Stop by tomorrow, I will be posting the winner from the Disney Blog Hop giveaway.

I was able to make a quick card before I left out of town and wanted to share it with you today. I used the Graphically Speaking cartridge for this card.
My card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 which I embossed with the spots folder. The base layer is 4 x 5 1/4 which I embossed with the SU petals a plenty embossing folder. I cut the little squares from a creative memories square punch which I think are 1 1/4" squares then layered the butterflies onto it. The butterflies are cut at 1 1/2 plus the layer and the phrase, ENJOY was cut at 3/4. I added a little ribbon and bling on the card which was also from SU.

For the Graduate

Hello Everyone, Happy Mother's Day!! I hope your all having a wonderful day. I actually happen to have a little time this afternoon so I decided to play along in a challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion~Challenge #12~graduation theme. It is perfect timing too, as I was in need for a few graduation cards in the next few weeks.
My graduation card is cut from the Wild Card cartridge. I cut the envelope first at fit to page which came out at 7 1/2.  I cut the card at 7 1/2 and all the layers. The numbers 2011 were cut at 2". It's been a while since I used this cartridge. I actually liked how it turned out and may need to use this cartridge a bit more.

Disney Blog Hop!!

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion and the Disney Blog Hop. If you have come from Becka's blog, you are in the right place. If you are just visiting my Blog and want to play along, you can do so by starting at Sylvia's blog (www.bellascrapbookdesigns.blogspot.com)
For my project I made a cute little Disney photo album and picture frame. I used my gypsy, cricut and bind-it-all for this project. I hope you like what I have created :)

I used the George and Basic Shapes cartridge to pick up a 5 x 7 rectangle. I welded the letters Disney at 1" using the Pooh cartridge to the rectangle x 2. I also cut out 4~5 x7 rectangles for the inside pages. These are all cut from chipboard first, then paper for covering the chipboard. Once it was covered with the paper, I then binded it together with the Bind-it-all. The rest of the project I used the Mickey and Friends cartridge. The Mickey and Minnie on the cover are cut at 4". All the characters in the book are  cut at 3 1/2. All the character words are as follows: Pluto, Daisy, Goofy are cut at 3/4. Donald Duck at 1",  Mickey and Minnie at 1 1/4. I cut a photo mat for each page at 3 x 4 and 3 1/8 x 4 1/8.  The title "Let the Magic Begin" was done on the computer. I added a little ribbon to give it a finished look.
The frame was cut at 6" plus the layers from the Happy Hauntings cartridge. Micky at 3 1/2 plus layers, Disney at 1 1/4 from Micky and Friends cartridge. I added a little ribbon along with a little charm to finish it up.

NOW, FOR SOME BLOG HOP CANDY!!!
