You're invited to a BBQ!

Hi Everyone,

With summer in full force for some of us that is, I thought it would be fun to play in this challenge. I can easily see myself needing a few of these cards on hand as we love to BBQ and have friends over in the summer. Today's card is for a challenge at Cricut Cardz Challenge #81 ~Cook out or Picnic Theme.

My card base is 5 1/2, base layer is 5 3/8 x 5 3/8 which I embossed half of the card with the star folder. I cut that yummy looking burger at 4" plus the layers from the Nifty Fifty's cartridge. I cut the oval and tag at 1 1/2 from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge. The sentiment~You're invited to a BBQ is from My Creative Time~Have fun in the Sun Stamp set.  I added some cappuccino bakers twine from My Craft Spot She has a wonderful selection of bakers twine if your looking for some and very reasonable!

Stop by tomorrow for a little surprise!

Easel Birthday Card

Hi Everyone,

It's finally starting to feel like summer!!  The weather is cooperating and it's just gorgeous! I was even able to get out in my flower beds for a while today.  Boy, they are desperately needing some attention!
For today's card I decided to make an easel card. I can't believe I have never made one. I have seen so many of them and just never attempted one. So super easy! Anyway, here is goes!

My card base is 4 1/4 x 11 then scored at 2 1/2 and 5 1/2. Then cut another piece at 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 for the piece that mounts to the base.  I then made a couple mats~the yellow at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8,  pattern piece  cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  I mounted a 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece which I embossed with the star folder and 2 x 3 3/4 embossed with the dots folder.

I attached a accordion embellishment with a star which was cut at 2 1/2 from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge and a cute button from Heidi Grace. The sentiment is from My Creative Time~Wow, so many candles stamp set.  I used some pop dots on the bottom part of the card when I mounted the smaller mats 3 7/8 x 2 7/8  so that panel would wedge in and it would stand well.

Entering this in a challenge at Birthday Sundaes Challenge #15 Stars and Strips~Birthday and the
Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge #55 If you are looking for a couple fun challenges stop at their blogs for the details and come play to!

Sea of Love.....

Hi Everyone,

Today's card is for a challenge at  September Ninth~Tacky Tuesday Challenge #7. The challenge is-"Sea Creature". You can use any sea creature from any cartridge and you must have "sea" in your sentiment. The winner of the challenge will win a My Creative Time sentiment stamp set. All you have to do is make a card and post it on Tacky Tuesday's facebook page by July 5th. Hope you join us!!!

This is a 5 1/2 square card. I cut the cute little fish from Life's a Beach cartridge at 3.29 x 3.87 using my gypsy girl plus the layers. I cut 2 of them~flipping one of them so they could face each other. I cut the hat from Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge at 3 1/4. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the bubble look border. The Sea of Love was made on the computer and I used SU punches for around the sentiment. Not a very scary looking sea creature, ha?  I decided to go cutsie with mine:)

A little polka dot ribbon, prima flower, bakers twine and a button in the corner to wrap this card up. I actually like the color combination on this card. I think I could use this card for an engagement or Anniversary card possibly~what do you think??

Happy 4th of July!

Hello Everyone,

I hope your enjoying the weekend so far! I wanted to post this quick today as I am off to spend the day with my daughter. We are taking off to the Mall of America for the day.

With the 4th of July right around the corner I thought it would be fun to participate in a few challenges that are a Patriotic theme.

My card base is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, base layer at 5 1/4 x 4 which I embossed with the stars folder. I cut the image at 4 1/4 plus the layers from A Child's Year cartridge. I cut it out a second time in red so I could cut away the pieces and use them in my project since this cartridge did not have a lot of layering features for what I was cutting. The flag is cut at 1 1/2 plus the layers and "The 4th of July" cut a 2" all from the Independence Day cartridge.

I also made little treat bags using 3 x 4 bags and filled them with treats. The topper was cut at 2 x 3 and I used my SU punches for around the sentiment~Happy forth of July sentiment is from Hero Arts I think.

Challenges: Whimsical Wednesday Challenge #12~Lets get Patriotic
                     Cricut Cardz Challenge #80~American Flag
Decorate to Celebrate #2~4th of July/Independence Day Theme Party

The tag was cut at 3 3/4 from Tags, Bags, Boxes and more cartridge and the cupcake cut at 3 3/4 from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I used the Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids (which I love) for the cute little face which I had won from Ruthie over at September Ninth in a giveaway. I added a few prima flowers, bling and some ribbon.

This card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I use the Campin Critter cartridge to cut the cute little skunk in a canoe at 3" plus the layers and the hat at 2 3/4. I embossed some of the layers with the swiss dots folder and the tiny bubbles folder. The sentiment~Happy Father's Day is from Studio G. I just love this cut on this cartridge. It would look so cool on a campin' scrap page, wouldn't it?

You make life sweet!

Hello,
I was so excited to try out this crinkle ribbon that I purchased from My Craft Spot . I could not tear into it any faster, LOL!  I ordered a variety of colors and used the "chocolate truffle" on my card for today.  My card is a 5 x 5 card and I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge for my cutie patootie. Isn't she cute??

I cut her at 3 3/4 and the layers. Of course, I had to add some bling to her lei, a little string belt and a flower in her hair. Her cute face is from Peachy Keen Stamps ~Princess face asst set. Boy, if you don't have any of these face stamp sets, I would recommend that you get them on your wish list...they are fantastic! It brings your project to life with these faces and seriously makes you smile every time you use them.
The sentiment~You make life sweet is from My Craft Spot ~Sweet sentiment set #2.  I am entering this in the More than favors~CCCC #20 Challenge~Paper Doll Dress Up. You still have time to play in the challenge..for more info, go HERE to play.

I got this paper pack called Heidi Grace~Daisy Dear not that long ago and I just love the pattern paper in it. So, I decided to use it for the sketch challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps. The challenge was to follow this sketch HERE and a sponging technique. You still have time to play along. Head over there and get the details and play along..

My card is 5 1/2. I cut the scallop from the Birthday Bash cartridge at 3 3/4.  I cut the pretty flower from Kate's ABC cartridge at 3 1/4 plus the layers. I embossed two of the flower layers with divine swirls folder and inked around the edges to distress it a bit. I cut the accents at 3/4" with the Elegant Cakes cartridge and added a few little blings. The sentiment~If friends were flowers...I'd pick you~is from My Scrappy Moms Stamps~Designer Choice set. I added a satin ribbon bow and a cute little heart stick pin in the center of the flower.  Drop me a comment and tell me what you think:)

Hi Everyone,
Have you heard of Decorate to Celebrate ???  They just started a new challenge blog last Wednesday. You should pop over, check it out and play along in the challenge.

The Decorate to Celebrate Challenge #1 is: Father's Day Theme Party. You can create any project that would be used as a party decoration or party supply for a Father's Day Themed Party~party signs, banners, cupcakes, party favors, etc.  You have until June 14th to link up. So, come on and join the FUN!

I have made my hubby a Father's Day card along with a party favor box for at each seating at the picnic table for Father's Day. I have created this cute little party favor box to be filled with salted peanuts. My guys favorite! We will also do some grilling, play some horse shoe, have a few beers and maybe have a bonfire (weather permitting). Sounds like fun, ha?

I made this card using the Father's Day cartridge and cut the fish bag/fishing rod at 3" and the layers. I cut the fish from the Campin Critter cartridge at 2 1/2, 3 1/2 and 4". I used SU circle and scallop circle punch for around the sentiment. The Happy Father's Day sentiment on the card is from Studio G.
The party favor box is cut from Tags Bags Boxes and More cartridge at 5". The tag, Happy Father's Day is cut from the Father's Day cartridge at 1 1/2.  The pattern paper is from a Fish Tale~get in gear. I hope you like my little project..thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate it:)

M.A.G Challenge by the Page #29

Hello Everyone,
Hope everyone had a good Monday. We had another beautiful day! I think we are on a roll, yeah!
Here is a quick card that I made for a challenge at  M.A.G. Challenge by the Page . The challenge is to create a project with Gypsy Wanderings~pg 68 images ONLY. This seemed to be a challenge for me.... My brain was just not coming up with anything I liked:(  Oh well, this is what I came up with..hope you like it.

I used the tag shadow function key and welded the image together at 5.03 x 8.16 using my gypsy for the base card. The base layer is cut at 4.57 x 4.05 and embossed with the spots and dots folder. The little tags were cut at 1.75 x 1.13 (x3) along with the notes at 1.27 x 1.05 and 1.27 x .86 (x2).  I embossed the tags with the polka dots folder. I added a few buttons and I also will stamp a sentiment~"Just a note" on the card before I send it out.

Bug Bites Bug Hop Challenge

Hello Everyone,
Here is a card that I made for the Bug Bites Grillin' n Chillin' Bug Hop Challenge #2. I had a lot of playing last week in the Bug Hop and wanted to play in the challenge. For the challenge you are to include a cricut cut and one hidden bugs found on the hop. I used the ladybug in my project.

I created this shaped card from the Birthday Bash cartridge by using my gypsy to weld the scallops together. I welded them at 5.43 x 9.45, layer at 4.70 x 4.08. I cut the pail at 3 1/2 along with all the layers from the Simply Charmed cartridge. The lady bug was cut at 3/4" from the Create a Critter cartridge. I used the embossing folder~latice for the sand and the swiss dots on the base layer. The sentiment~Have Fun in the Sun is from My Creative Time~Have Fun in the Sun stamp set. I remember those hot summer days when we would take the kids and haul all there beach toys to the lake and just relax and enjoy the day. We always had to make a sand castle~that was a must at the beach. It brings a big smile to my face when I think back to those days:)

Cricut Cardz Challenge #77

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! It has been an absolute beautiful day. It's about 70 and sunny~just love it!!! We found a little time to finish up our yard work, take in a couple grad parties and even took the boat out for a spin on the river. Wow, I just love days like this:)
I needed to make a couple quick graduation cards for today~nothing like the last minute, ha?? I tried to keep the challenge over at Cricut Cardz in mind when I put this card together.

This card was super simple. I cut this using the "card feature" on the Wrap it up cartridge at 5 1/2. I cut the congratulations at 2" and the scroll and layers at 1 1/2. I embossed the scroll with the swiss dots cartridge and added some ribbon. Super easy and quick:)

I Love Summer!

Hi Everyone,

I am so glad it is Friday! School is officially done today:)  I do not have any kids in school anymore but I am sure all the kids are excited to begin their summer vacation!  I had a busy week and it seems to be rolling right into my weekend. A few graduation parties to go to this weekend.  I also need  to get a jump start on some things I need to get ready for my guys who are heading to Canada for a week of fishing. So, I have some grocery shopping to do and some baking for them before they take off next weekend. Their is a group of about 20 guys that go~My husband and boys look forward to it every year.

I have made a quick card to enter in a couple challenges for this week: I actually left this card a little plain. A card with no stitching??? Oh well, it's not to bad, is it?

This card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I cut this cute truck from the New Arrival cartridge at 2 3/4 and embossed it with the dots & spots folder. I cut the tiny little apples from the Create a Critter cartridge at 1/2" and layered them in the back of this pickup. I used my gypsy and cut the sentiment~I Love Summer from the Simply Charmed cartridge at .92 x 2.11. Added a little ribbon, twine and buttons for the wheels.

This card reminds me a little bit of my summer days as a kid. Once school was out, we use to pick the garden for my parents, feed the chickens and go to my Grandpa's farm and my Aunt/Uncles farm and jump in the truck and go pick, eat and shhhhh sometimes throw apples. We also enjoyed many hay rides. FUN times.... miss those days!
I hope you enjoy my quick card! Enjoy your weekend:)

Challenges: More than favors~CCCC #19~New Arrival cartridge
Celebrate the Occasion #16~Schools out-must include apple on project
