TakeTime To Relax

Hello Everyone,

I hope your having a wonderful Wednesday!! Can you believe it...2nd post today? I didn't want to miss out~I was scrabbling to try and fit in this challenge over at Cricut 360 which ends this evening and finally decided to put down my "to do list" today and getter done..no biggy that the laundry, dusting and vacuuming, etc wait another day, right? LOL!

So, off I go to my craft room and here is my card that I made for the challenge. My card base is 6".  I cut this bathing beauty at 3 1/4 plus the layers from the Pack Your Bags cartridge, the tree from the Life's a Beach cartridge at 3 1/2 and 2" and distressed them a bit and added a little doodling. The little flip flops are also from Life's a Beach at 1".

I used fringe scissors from Martha Stewart for the grass and then cut 1 x 6 and 1 1/2 x 6 strips of green, tan and blue~then tore and distressed and added it to the beach to get the sandy beach look in front of the water. The sentiment is from Pink By Design~Summer Vacation set.  In about 3 weeks, I will be doing exactly this........relaxing and sipping on a cocktail in Mexico. Can't wait:)

So, now that I feel like I got my craft fix for the day........I am off to get my housework done. I am behind big time because all my spare time has been helping my daughter pack/clean up before she moves into her home in a couple weeks.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to be back tomorrow!

100% Princess

Hello Everyone,

Today I wanted to try and fit in a challenge that is about to end at M.A.G Challenge by the Page. What I like about this challenge is that it forces you to be a bit more creative because you are only allowed to use the cuts on a particular page of the cartridge they choose. This challenge #41 is to use the Sweet Treats cartridge and page #45 only. So, on went the thinking cap and here is what I came up with:)

I cut the crown at 3.73 x 5.99 welding them together using my gypsy for the shape. The base layer is cut at 3.73 plus all the layers. I embossed the green layer of the crown with the polka dots folder and the heart with the divine swirls folder.

I dressed it up a little by putting some prima flowers and a touch of glitter (stickles) along with a cute little heart stick pin. I felt it still needed something...so I added a little stitching and a cute sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps ~Happily Ever After stamp set. Great card fit for any little Princess, ha?

I am also entering it a fun challenge over at My Craft Spot Challenge #23 "Sew" much fun!  (You are to add sewing, stitching or faux stitching to your project) There is plenty of time to join in the fun, so come on and play along...

Thanks for looking,
Sherrie K

Butterfly Award

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone had a great weekend! It has been crazy around my household that last week and I apologize for not posting, visiting and commenting. I promise I will be back in full force real soon!!

My daughter purchased a home about 10 days ago and found out Friday night at 8pm that the inspectors suggested that it be painted (outside) before the appraiser comes on Wednesday (as they would call that and we'd have to paint it anyway but would save us the cost of a re-inspection) ...so guess what....part of the agreement was we would paint. However, we thought we'd have more than 5 days to do it in. Yikes!

Well, we hit it hard and of course, it had to rain part way through it all and made a mess for us and had to re-do one whole side (weather..not in our favor) We did manage to get the house done and now onto the garage with 2 evenings to finish it in. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Along with that, I committed to help my daughters girlfriends throw a baby shower for my daughter which was on Sunday with about 50 people attending. So, I had food to prepare and set up that I said I would do...so I was probably looking like a crazy women~it's been a blur that last few days.

I am missing all of my blogger friends so much and my craft room. Please keep in touch with me...things will settle down soon, I hope!! Thanks for understanding:)

I have to say, when I found time to get on my computer I was so excited to have received an award from Amy at http://redheadedcrafter.blogspot.com/ Her blog is great and she is super talented. Stop by her blog and check out her awesome projects:) Thanks so much Amy for passing this award to me: )

award this 'Butterfly Award' to 10 other bloggers,
contact the 10 bloggers to let them know they have been
given this award, and I also need to show a link to the

Q3) Name your favorite dessert?

Q10) What is perfection?

Q11) Guilty Pleasure?

Q12) When you're upset you?

Now I have to pass this award to 10 other friends. Sence of Humor

Hello Everyone,

I hope your enjoying your weekend! Don't the weekends just fly by?? I would like to share a couple scrap pages I did from some Christmas pictures that we had taken when the kids were all home. Of course, as you can see my 3 musketeers are up to there usual behavior when it's time for pictures.

They all tease me because I am always running around with my camera and they don't like taking pictures. So for a while, no cooperation until I started to whine a bit. My baby is actually the real goof ball of the family. He usually starts it and from there they are all out of control and laughing hysterically. It's fun at times to see them goof off and enjoy hanging out.

I cut the Family from the Gypsy Wondering at 2.21 x 4.25, Fun from Lyrical Letters at 2.22 x 3.20 and the scroll flower from Joys of the Season at 2.50 x 11.50. The star was from Tie the Knot at 3.57 x 2.16. I embossed the little flowers and added a little bling. Very quick and simple which when you have a tons of pictures, that's what you shoot for, right?  Hope you like:)  I still would like to add a title to the 2nd page just had a brain freeze...probably will say Christmas 2010. Any suggestions?
I am entering this over at Whimsical Wednesdays Challenge #17~"Sense of Humor" .

If you have arrived from Adrian's blog you are in the right spot. If you happen to stumble on my upon my blog and would like to play along, please do so by starting at Jovan's blog.

With my children all out of grade school and college, back to school doesn't effect my household anymore. When they were younger we always took a day or two and shopped for new cloths, shoes, backpacks and school supplies, etc.  We always had a fun time together and the kids looked forward to it!!

The first day of school went like this~ the kids would go to school, Dad would go to work and I would meet up with about 8 of my girlfriends for coffee/breakfast. Then some of us would head to work and some off to the mall. Guess where I would go???? Ha ha.....that would defiantly be the MALL:) We still meet the first day of school, even though are kids are all out of school..fun, ha?

My project today is a cute little treat bag idea. You could make this for a Teacher or classmates and fill it with a yummy treat like laffy taffy, gummies, etc:) I always had fun making and sending treat bags with the kids to school for their classmates each year.

I used the Accent Essentials cartridge for the shape and cut 2 of them at 3 1/2 and adhered them to a small treat bag originally sized at 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 cut down to 3 1/2 x 2 3/4. I cut the apple at 2 3/4 from the Doodle Charms cartridge and the cute little face from the Peachy Keen~Princess Face. Cute little face, ha? My sentiment is from TPC Studio~I love school stamp set. I also added a little ribbon and some sweet bakers twine.  Hope you like!

Wow, can you believe it's Friday again! It has been super busy and there just never seems to be enough time in a day to get all the things done on my list. Does anyone else feel like that
sometimes? There are so many challenges going on and I just can't seem to get ahead of them :(
I did manage to find a little time this evening to play in this challenge:) Here is a quick project for a challenge I made for over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #72~Let's get buggy.

I cut this little gift box from Once Upon a Princess cartridge at fit to page which ended up 6 3/4. The cricket is cut from Live Simply cartridge at 1 3/4 plus the layers.

I tore a little paper border along the bottom and added some gathered ribbon along with a cute little sentiment~Bug me anytime from My Creative Time . I also used My Creative Time's wonderful new die~scallop and stitched circle. I love this size bag~it works perfect for candy or for any small gift.

Thanks for stopping!

Berry best wishes!

Hello Everyone,

Hope your all enjoying the week! I have been out of town the past couple days visiting my family. So, it's time to play some catch up and get some projects done. I will be busy in my craft room the next couple days and hopefully be back to share some fun projects. Be sure to stop back on Saturday for the Back to School Blog Hop. It will be a lot of fun~ there will be a lot of inspirational projects and blog candy giveaways!!

I want to share a card I made for September Ninths~Tacky Tuesday Challenge #9~Berry/Fruit cut and the word "berry" in the sentiment.

The shaped card is from the Elegant Edges cartridge at 5.00 and the base layer at 4.88 x 5.11. I cut the strawberry vine from the Rock Princess cartridge at 2.81 x 3.14 and the layers. I embossed the flowers with the swiss dots folder.  The cute sentiment is from Joy's Life~Yummy Puns Set and the die is from My Creative Time.  I am really liking the Elegant Edges cartridge. It has a great selection of images to make shaped cards and a great frame feature. It's at the top of my favorites!  I thought it would be fun to weave the satin ribbon around the outer part of the base layer for a different look. Hmmm, I think it's okay, what do you think??

Be back tomorrow for some exciting news..........

The fruit was cut at 4" from the Nate's ABC cartridge and the layers. The sentiment~We are a great pear~ is from Joy's Life~Yummy Pun Stamps.

Yummy... cupcake shaped card!!

Hello Everyone,

I added glossy effects to the cherry along with a pretty pink gingham bow. I cut the little flowers from a border punch and pulled the flowers apart, added a bling in the center then added it to the cupcake. Hmmm, kind of like candy sprinkles....The sentiment~"enjoy" is from Pink By Designs and "Happy Birthday" is from Hero Arts. Wow, after making this card I totally am wanting a BIG chocolate cupcake, LOL! How about you?
