Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!
Yeah, its Friday!!!! So, what plans do you all have for the weekend? We are meeting up with our kids for dinner and then off to a college hockey game~should be fun night!! I am planning for Saturday to have a little "me" time so I am hoping to get in my craft room for the afternoon. I am so looking forward to that. Well, hope you all have a great weekend!!
Today, I would like to share this sweet gift giving idea with you. I purchased this cookie holder-template from The Cutting Cafe. Isn't this just adorable? It fits a cookie perferctly:)
I do not have SCAL so I printed this and hand cut out the template. I then went to my gypsy and welded a circle and scallop circle from the Birthday Bash cartridge. I printed the circular sentiment and then loaded the mat with that card stock that I just printed the sentiment on and cut the welded shape. It cut great right around the sentiment. It was a little fussy trying to get it to line up but I finally got it close enough. The circle was cut at 2.73 x 2.88, the scallop at 3.84 x 4.49.
This holds a yummy chocolate chip cookie up to 4.25 x 4.25 inches. I dropped the cookie into a clear treat bag and closed the envelope up. I added some pretty checked ribbon and a little checked button to finish it up. I really need to get SCAL or the silhouette for these cut files because this was a little bit cumbersome. Oh well, I still like the end results. Maybe, you could tell me which one I should get? Any advise?
You could make these for Teacher's gifts, co-workers, little kids lunch buckets, etc. I just fell in love with this when I saw it and had to make one. You can also get the sentiments as well which punch out perfectly with the SU punch. Hope you enjoyed my project!
I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) My Time To Craft ~Challenge #163 Quite white
2.) My Craft Spot ~Challenge #31 See through projects
3.) Love To Crop ~Use Circles-circle shaped, circle themed or simply have circles on it.
Thanks for stopping by,
Sherrie K

ReplyDeleteHey Sherrie!
ReplyDeleteThis would make a perfect little gift or pick me up! This is the type of project to make a few of and have on hand. Of course, add the cookie later as it might get too stale! LOL!

Super cute idea Sherrie. I have SCAL, the older version that works with my cricut. The newer versions do not work with Cricut. I don't have any experience with the silhouette.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great gift idea, Sherrie! I love the see-through window with the sentiment and the awesome bow! I don't have SCAL...I thought about getting it but I have invested so much into Cricut carts it just didn't seem worth it to me. I'd love to know your thoughts if you get it :)
