Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!
Yeah, it's Friday! Looking forward to a longer weekend. Any plan's for the New Year? We are going to have a quiet evening...I think! I don't know when the last time we stayed home on New Years Eve was but I think we are going to enjoy the evening with our Granddaughter, Arya. We can't wait!
Today I have another Thank You card to share with you. My card base is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 and the base layer is 5 x 5. I used paper from a 6 x 6 paper pack by Authentique-collection called-wonder. I love it! So many pretty papers:)
The cage and bird are from a Bigz die from Tim Holtz~called Caged bird. I just love this die and know I will be using this again in the near future. I used the coordinating papers from the pack for the bird to. I added a cute little row of heart beads from Close to My Heart-Dress it Up and used craft wire to tie them on to the cage. Thought it would dress that cage up a bit-what do you think?
I distressed the edges of all the paper and cuts with SU Sahara Sand except for the red mat. I cut the red mat from Lacy Labels at 4 3/4 and embossed it with the snowflake folder, then lightly sanded it. I distressed it with a touch of SU craft white to give it a little pop. I added a pretty lacy border using the Martha Stewart's border punch and tied on some fun fibers. The little tag is the curly label die from My Creative Time and the sentiment is from SU-With all my Heart.
I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Paper Cutz ~Challenge #119~ card, layout or project using hearts.
2.) DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge-Thank you card, any color, any reason.
Thanks for visiting!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your win at Bonnie's blog (Pinkbonbons).
Happy New Year, Friend!
Thanks for the advice on keeping my Expression. I feel the same way...I am comfortable with my Expression, so why not keep it AND my Imagine?
Especially like the birdcage. You did Tim Holtz proud with this. I also like the feathery material & heart shaped beads.

Beautiful card, I love the fibers with your lovely die-cut :)
ReplyDeleteMy sweet friend, I apologize for the delay! I'm finally back after oodles of family-oriented celebrations. :o) This is just exquisite. This color combo is always striking and your idea to pair it with so many textures, trims, and special elements.. I just don't even know what to say. :o) I like to highlight a favorite part but I have such a tough time choosing with your masterpieces. I love the double layer of doily lace and it was brilliant to use sheet music paper on a bird cage project. Completely brilliant. And trimmed in gorgeous heart beads... if I HAD to pick one fave part, it would probably be those gorgeous hearts. :o) Lovely work as always, Sherrie!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings! (And Happy New Year!) :o)
