Happy New Year!!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and wishing you all love, happiness and good health! I have a quick project I want to share with you. I thought it would be fun to have a small bottle of Sparkling White Grape juice at each place setting for brunch tomorrow.

I decorated each of the Sparkling White Grape juice bottles with a bottle topper. I cut the tag at 2 1/2 x 6 and scored it at 2", then used My Craft Spot Tiny Doilies Metal circle die and centered it and ran it through my cuttlebug for the hole. I then cut a piece of pattern paper 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 and layered some crinkle ribbon on the bottom. I cut the label from the Artiste cartridge at 1 3/4 and another one to shadow it at 2".

The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping ~Holiday Expressions set. I added some gems and a fun double bow to finish it off!  I also dressed up a bottle of red wine for my table as well and a few extra to give away as a gift to celebrate the New Year! Wouldn't this make a fun Hostess gift idea too? I am also entering this in a challenge over at Decorate to Celebrate ~New Years/Winter Party and 3 Girl JAM ~It's a New Year-Anything Goes!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!

Cookie Exchange Treat Bag!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful time back home visiting with our family and friends. So, did anyone adventure out for the big "Black Friday" shopping? We had really bad weather so we didn't make it out to the stores until late Friday afternoon. We were kind of bummed but the roads were glare ice and on top of that we got about 4 inches of snow. Oh well, I managed to get a little shopping done on Fri so I have at least started:) Yeah!

I also started some holiday baking, yum!  My dear blogger friend, Karen at Kaleidoscopic Sparkle shared a yummy recipe (Pumpkin Gingersnap Cookies) with all of us a while back and I knew right away I had to try these for my family. My kids have always loved homemade cookies when they were younger and still to do this day come over looking for cookies. Be sure to go HERE for the recipe so you can try it:)  Thanks again Karen-they are awesome!

So, I thought this would be fun to make a few batches of these. I have packaged some for a small cookie exchange that I am in at work and of course...some for my kids, which they loved!

I decorated a few of these cellophane bag with a cute little gingerbread girl from the PK-gingerbread girl set. I colored her with copics, which I am still learning, yikes... don't look to close, lol! I added a cute little face and gave her some rosy cheeks. The sentiments are from Pink By Design Tags & Treats stamp set. I topped it off with a double gingham bow. I hope they like them!

Elmo Party Decorations!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Well, it's hard to believe but little Arya is 1! For those of you that have been following me, you know that Arya is my Granddaughter. She was born last year on 11/11/11....fun birthday, ha? She is such a sweet little girl and we have been enjoying every minute of her.

We had a big celebration and I wanted to share a little of her big day with you! So, here we go......she loves Elmo so, that was the theme her parents wanted to go with. They asked me to do some of the decorations and party favors which I was happy to do them.

I used the Elmo's Party cartridge for this project:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!

I hope your all having a wonderful weekend! It has been crazy cold and super windy today :(  Just one of those days where you want to snuggle by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate or cider, Yum!

I have a quick card to share with you today as I found a little time to craft.  I was in the mood for a much needed break from doing Elmo stuff and decided to make a Thanksgiving card. By the way, Ayra is "1" tomorrow and we have a big day planned with family and friends. I am hoping to post some pictures on Monday or Tuesday sometime so stay tuned!

I had some difficulty getting a good picture of this card for some reason :(  Anyway, here it is:

My card base is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.  The base layer being 5 x 5 along with the next layer at 4 7/8 x 4 7/8 using some paper from Lasting Impressions collection. The turkey is cut from the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge at 4" plus the layers which I embossed with the divine swirls and polka dots folder. The leaves are cut from the  Create A Critter cartridge at 1" and embossed for dimension. I used the Martha Stewart fringe scissors for the grass and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. I used up some scrap satin ribbon for the double bow.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Fantabulous Monday Challenge #136-Fall Harvest
2.) Paper Playtime Challenge #88-Autumn Colors
3.) DL.ART Thankful Thursday-Thanksgiving
4.) Simply Crafts -Thanksgiving
5.) My Sheri Crafts Challenge #98-Give Thanks
6.) Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday Challenge-Thanksgiving

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!

Hi everyone! I am so excited today to share my project with you as I was asked to be a Guest Designer for Inspired by Stamping!!!! Woot-Woot! Thank you so much Joanna for asking~I am so touched! This week's challenge is a sketch challenge! Sounds like fun, ha? Come on and join us in the challenge this week-love to see what you create!

Here is the sketch to follow:

Here is my card:

The card base is 5 1/4 with the card base layer at 5. The papers are from Authenique paper pack called wonder. I added a coordinating paper cutting at 2 x 5 and using a fun MS punch to add a border. The circle was cut from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge at 4 1/2 followed by the Spellbinders Lacey Circles die. The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping ~Dec 25 Labels set which I just purchased and love! I added some pearls and fussy cut a slightly larger label for a little pop and for some dimension. I added lace trim, a double lace bow and a pretty flower which was cut from the Lacy Labels cartridge at 2 3/4 real dial size. I topped it off with pearl flourishes. Hope you like!

Just for you~

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Wednesday! I have been a crazy person running around this week getting things ready for little Miss Arya's 1st birthday on Sunday! The theme will be ELMO:) Who doesn't love Elmo....it will be fun. I will and share some of the things I am making sometime next week.

Today, I wanted to get in on the Peachy Keen Stamps Sketch Challenge. I just love their stamps and I haven't had the chance to join in much lately. Here is the sketch to follow:

I wanted to make a special card for my daughter to let her know how proud I am of her. She has been working her tail off and just received another promotion at her job along with being such a great Mom to Arya.

For this card I cut this adorable bear from the Create A Critter cartridge at 3.5 x 2.78 using my gypsy so I could hide the face features to use the adorable PK~cute and cuddly face set. Isn't she just the cutest?

I added glossy accents to the eyes and chalked up her rosy cheeks.  I added a  fun tulle skirt, some twine from My Craft Spot and a pretty little flower which was from Inspired by Stamping. I pop dotted her to a lacy doily and then finished with a sentiment from My Creative Time ~Gift card sentiment set.

I am also entering this in a challenge at Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge-Teddy Bear Picnic which is another fantastic challenge blog! Stop over and check out all the adorable Teddy Bears....Oh my gosh, soooo darn cute!

Thanks for visiting,
Sherrie K
