You guys are the best!!!  I appreciate your thoughtfulness!!

It has been killing me to see all these challenges going on and not being able to participate...So, today I decided to get back in my room even if it's for a little bit and create something AND so glad that I did. I hope you enjoy my card-this is for you!

I cut the flower from the Flower Shoppe cartridge at 3" plus the layers. I inked it with momento desert sand and the pop dotted the layers for dimension. Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps.with Passion!!

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend! It was a very low key weekend for me. I haven't felt good with this terrible cold and not a lot of energy, so I pretty much accomplished......zero this weekend! I am hoping to get in my craft room this week as I am super behind on things:( Don't ya just hate that feeling? Oh well....it will get done one way or another!

Today it's another Challenge Me Monday Challenge over at  Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. The challenge this week is: Label It-create a project using a scalloped shape or other label shape (other then a plain circle) I hope you come and join in the fun:)

The base layer is cut at 4.00 x 4.61 and next layer at 3.18 x 4.47. I then layered a pretty paper doily I got in the Jan 2012 card kit "Fun Love" from Shop Pumpkin Spice and inked the edges with Tim Holtz-Victorian Velvet distressed ink.

The sweet little puppy is cut from the Sweethearts cartridge at 3.40 x 3.54  plus the layers. I embossed the puppy using the lattice folder. I added some googly eyes and marichino bakers twine for the bows which I purchased from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  The tag is from a SU punch and the sentiment~ Puppy Love from a new stamp set that I purchased from My Craft Spot called Build a Valentine. Super cute set! I finished the card off by adding a little doodling, a pretty pink satin bow and a sweet polka dot heart button that came in the kit too:) Hope you like it:)

So, Kiss me

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Thursday!! I hope everyone is having a good week. It has been a busy one for me. My little Granddaughter came down with a bad cold, fever and other flu like symptoms. I feel so bad, she has such a horrible cough and looks so rough:(( So, my daughter and I have each taken a little time off work in order to keep her home from daycare until she gets over this. Poor little peanut!

My craft time has been a little limited these days, but I did manage to come up with a quick card while baby was napping. I hope you like it:)

My card base is 5 1/2 x 5 1/ and the base layer is at 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. The pattern paper is from My Minds Eye-"Fun Day" which is included in the 2012 January card kit I purchased from Pumpkin Spice.  I also used the doily and tan ribbon that came in the kit on this project as well. Wow, you must go check out this kit. It is AMAZING!! I LOVE all the pretty paper and embellishments in this kit. I cut the adorable monkey at 3.50 x 6.38 plus the layers from the Sweethearts cartridge. I embossed the leaf with the divine swirls folder and the other piece with the polka dots folder and layered it over the pretty paper doily.

I added a little strip of paper along the bottom cut at 3/4 x 5 1/2 and embossed it with the polka dots folder. I then stamped right on the ribbon my sentiment using Momento-Rich Cocoa ink and layered that right on top of that strip. The sentiment, So, Kiss me-is from My Craft Spot ~Always & Forever stamp set.  I finished it off by adding a big bow using 2 different satin ribbons.

Entering this in the following challenges:

1.) Celebrate the Occasion ~Any Occasion-must use polka dots
2.) Made Especially For You ~Create a card featuring 3 ribbons

We got the photographer booked, the cake picked out and the limo booked. She also made reservations to go pick out the tuxedo's and bridesmaid dresses.  We all had a great time but Boy, have the costs ever change from when I got married almost 30 yrs ago! Wowzers...big eye opener!

So for today, Monday, it is another Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. Even though this is not my Design Team week, I just had to play in the challenge!!  For this weeks challenge it is:  Snow Time-Use a snowflake or snowman on your card or project.

I am still needing some thank you cards to send out from the holidays, so this challenge was perfect for me.  My card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and the base layer is cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/4. I embossed the base layer using the snowflake embossing folder. The next mat is cut at 3.90 x 5.25 which I welded two snowflakes that were 1.00 x 1.10- grouped and then cut out of pretty pattern paper from the DCWV-Peppermint Frost.

Good Morning all!! I hope you are enjoying your Sunday!!  I am SO excited today because this is my first official post for the Go Fish Challenge Blog Design Team!!! The challenge for today is:
A Sketch Challenge~Any size layout.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I have a very simple 12 x 12 layout to share with you.  The papers are from a Valentine paper pack that I picked up at Michael's a while back and really needed to use it up. I cut 2 strips of coordinating pattern paper for on each side of the layout. I also added some fun ric rac ribbon. My hearts are cut out at 2.25 x 2.45 from Gypsy Wondering cartridge and then layered the other hearts that I cut out of the pattern paper from this pack and pop dotted them on it. I cut the layered photo mat at 5 x 5 1/2 and another one at 5 1/4 x 5 3/4. I tied a pretty satin bow and a cute little charm that says.....Be Mine! The Celebrate Love is cut from Calligraphy Collection at 2.88 x 4.70 and created a shadow layer at 3.00 x 4.89.

I hope you stop over at Go Fish Challenge Blog and check out the other Design Team Members and their projects. You are sure to be inspired:) Remember you have 2 weeks to link up your entry:) Hope you come join us!

Oh Happy Day!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Saturday!!! I hope your enjoying your weekend!! I have had this cartridge for a while and it sits very close to where I work on my projects. I keep telling myself.. oh, I will get to it sometime, lol! So, today I finally decided to stop for a minute, look at it and create something....so, here is what I came up with:

Aaaw, don't ya just love Big Bird???  I cut the base of my card with the Art Philosophy cartridge at 5" from the card feature and the outer frame layer for the base shape. I embossed that with the polka dots folder. The Big Bird, which I love is cut from the Sesame Street Seasons cartridge at 4 1/4 plus the layers. I found this cute little frame on the Art Philosophy cartridge and cut it at 1" (same as the one I cut on my lunch bag project) and the sweet sentiment which I thought was perfect for this card is from Whimsical Designs -Whimsical Fun-Vol 1. Isn't this fun? I added a big silk bow and voila....done! Quick and fun!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Scrappy Moms Stamps -Terrific Tuesday Challenge-Cartoon Characters
2.) Celebrate the Occasion- Challenge #45-Child's Birthday

Thanks for visiting....enjoy your day!!

I cut the base from the Art Philosophy cartridge at 5 1/2 using the card feature plus the layers. The pattern paper is from My Minds Eye and the solid card stock from SU.  I added a topper by cutting a circle from George and cutting it in half and mounting between the layers. The sentiment-Happy Birthday is from My Creative Time - Gift card sentiment set which I distressed a bit with SU certainly celery.

I cut this yummy cupcake at 4" from the Sweet Treats cartridge and the layers. I added some stickles for a sparkly look and a sentiment-celebrate which is from Hero Arts-also distressed a bit. You make me SMILE all over my face!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!!

I am SO loving this beautiful 40 + degree weather. It is certainly strange for us in Minnesota to have such warm weather for this time of the year...but hey, I don't mind!  It makes me want to start spring cleaning....NOT, lol!

I was able to sneak in my craft room a bit and work on getting more organized and after a couple hours of that I decided to take a break and make a quick gift bag for a little gift that I was going to to give my boss in appreciation for being so generous over the holidays.

I made this gift bag from a paper lunch bag after seeing the idea and tutorial from Sara- a DT Member at The Paper Variety.  I was so inspired that I had to make one. Stop and check out the details HERE on Sara's project- you will love it!  It is such a cute idea and you could dress it up for ANY occasion:)

I started with a white lunch bag and cut it down to 8". The used a Martha Stewart punch to create a pretty lacy look border. I embossed the bag with a sizzix flower set (to me it looks kind of like snowflakes) Then added a center strip piece 3 1/2 x 5 and gave it a border using a Martha Stewart snowflake punch.

The snowman was cut at 4 1/2 from the Winter Frolic cartridge and embossed some of the pieces with the polka dots folder.  The adorable face is from PKS 522- Winter Faces. I cut the snowflakes at 1 1/4, 1 3/4 and 2 1/2 from the Joys of the Season cartridge and the little frame is cut at 1 1/4 from Art Philosophy cartridge. The darling sentiment is from Whimsical Designs- Whimsical Fun Vol 1 set that I had won on Stephanie's sneak peek release. Thanks again Stephanie!

The finishing touch was the ribbon I added that is actually recycled as it came on a package that I received  a while ago. I just couldn't throw it away...figured I would use it someday!  Hope you enjoyed my project:)

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1.) Whimsical Designs - Challenge #3-On the Edge- Create something with a border or use an edge punch on your project.
2.) The Paper Variety -Create a project using Black and White with a kiss a color (any color) I used blue.
3.) Little Scrap Pieces-Copy Cat Friday -Winter challenge
4.) Paper Playtime -challenge #64-use something recycled

FCCB Challenge #93- Man Time

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! Today is my design team  day at Fantabulous Cricut. The challenge this week is: Man Time...Make a masculine project. I decided to make this project and surprise my hubby with it. I am going to sneak it out to his car and lay it on his seat so when he gets in his car there is a surprise for him:) What a way to start off a your day, right?  They say.... a way to a man's heart is through food or chocolate, right? Hmmmm, I think I heard that before, LOL! Oh well, we'll see what he thinks!

I cut the treat box from Once Upon a Princess cartridge at 6.36 x 11.35. I cut it a second time in the pattern paper and cut away each piece for the outer part of the box to dress it up a bit more. The adorable little bear is cut at 3.47 x 3.09 from the Campin Critters cartridge and then embossed with the SU lattice folder.
I added a little tag using My Creative Time scallop and stitched circle die. The sentiment is from
PBD -Tags and Treats set. I made the handle by cutting a strip of  brown paper 2 x 9 and used a SU border punch on both sides and then attached it to the bag on the sides with gold brads. I filled it with some yummy Twix candy bars and tied it off with a bow....ribbon from my stash.
Be sure to stop by Fantabulous Cricut to see all of the projects created by the amazing Design Team. Hope you come join us in this fun challenge! Can't wait to see what you create!!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

I cut the brown base from the Lacy Labels cartridge at 4.75 x 10.71 using my gypsy. The base layer cut at 4.25 x 4.95 with pattern paper. The pink label is cut at 1 3/4,  stamped with a sentiment from
SU-a word for you set and then embossed with the Sizzix flower folder. I inked around the edges and also added some glitter around the edges which is hard to see but so pretty.

I cut the green leaves from Elegant Edges at 2" and embossed with the swiss dots folder. The flower is cut at 4" and after shaped,  added some glitter to the edges as well for a little sparkle. The sentiment-celebrate and the "1" is from Hero Arts. I added a little stitching for a little pop and a pretty pink satin bow.
Here is a close up of the flower :)

FCCB Challenge #92-Warming Up with Hot Cocoa

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!! Today is Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut and our challenge-Warming up with Hot Cocoa. We are to use a cup, chocolate or even the color brown on our project.

I decided to make some coasters for a few of my coffee friends that meet up with me a few times a week before work for a quick cup. I purchased the 4 x 4 tile squares from Menard's along with adhesive 12 x 12 cork sheets for the bottom of each coaster.

I cut the coffee cups from 2 different cartridges using vinyl. I used the Beyond Birthday cartridge and cut the cup at 3.11 x 2.78 and the Mmmm at 1.74 x 2.41. The other cup is cut from the Graphically Speaking cartridge at 2 1/4.  I used my gypsy so that I could fill the mat to cut out a lot of these as I was making 6 sets and then using the transfer tape to transfer them to the tile. I cut a 4 x4 square piece of cork, rounded the edges and adhered them to the bottom of each coaster.

They went together rather quickly. I tied raffia and a pretty bow using some SU velvet stitched ribbon that I had in my stash.  I added a little tag that I cut from Lacy Labels at 1 3/4 along with a sentiment which is from Robins Creative Cottage ~Gingerbread Holiday set.

Be sure to stop over at Fantabulous Cricut and check out all the projects by the amazing Design Team for inspiration:) Love to have you come join us in the challenge too!

Thanks for visiting and have a great day,
Sherrie K
