Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!! Today is Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut and our challenge-Warming up with Hot Cocoa. We are to use a cup, chocolate or even the color brown on our project.
I decided to make some coasters for a few of my coffee friends that meet up with me a few times a week before work for a quick cup. I purchased the 4 x 4 tile squares from Menard's along with adhesive 12 x 12 cork sheets for the bottom of each coaster.
I cut the coffee cups from 2 different cartridges using vinyl. I used the Beyond Birthday cartridge and cut the cup at 3.11 x 2.78 and the Mmmm at 1.74 x 2.41. The other cup is cut from the Graphically Speaking cartridge at 2 1/4. I used my gypsy so that I could fill the mat to cut out a lot of these as I was making 6 sets and then using the transfer tape to transfer them to the tile. I cut a 4 x4 square piece of cork, rounded the edges and adhered them to the bottom of each coaster.
They went together rather quickly. I tied raffia and a pretty bow using some SU velvet stitched ribbon that I had in my stash. I added a little tag that I cut from Lacy Labels at 1 3/4 along with a sentiment which is from Robins Creative Cottage ~Gingerbread Holiday set.
Be sure to stop over at Fantabulous Cricut and check out all the projects by the amazing Design Team for inspiration:) Love to have you come join us in the challenge too!
Thanks for visiting and have a great day,
Sherrie K

Oh my gosh, Sherrie, these are so AWESOME!! What a great idea!! And I am so excited because I have some of these tiles somewhere in my craft room (crossing my fingers that I can find them)!! I purchased them a few years ago when I was focusing on polymer clay, but I never did anything with them. I have the tiles, I have the vinyl, I am so scraplifting this wonderful idea (I'll give you credit of course)!! As always, thanks for the amazing inspiration my sweet friend!! :)
