Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!
Happy Thursday!! I hope everyone is having a good week. It has been a busy one for me. My little Granddaughter came down with a bad cold, fever and other flu like symptoms. I feel so bad, she has such a horrible cough and looks so rough:(( So, my daughter and I have each taken a little time off work in order to keep her home from daycare until she gets over this. Poor little peanut!
My craft time has been a little limited these days, but I did manage to come up with a quick card while baby was napping. I hope you like it:)
My card base is 5 1/2 x 5 1/ and the base layer is at 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. The pattern paper is from My Minds Eye-"Fun Day" which is included in the 2012 January card kit I purchased from Pumpkin Spice. I also used the doily and tan ribbon that came in the kit on this project as well. Wow, you must go check out this kit. It is AMAZING!! I LOVE all the pretty paper and embellishments in this kit. I cut the adorable monkey at 3.50 x 6.38 plus the layers from the Sweethearts cartridge. I embossed the leaf with the divine swirls folder and the other piece with the polka dots folder and layered it over the pretty paper doily.
I added a little strip of paper along the bottom cut at 3/4 x 5 1/2 and embossed it with the polka dots folder. I then stamped right on the ribbon my sentiment using Momento-Rich Cocoa ink and layered that right on top of that strip. The sentiment, So, Kiss me-is from My Craft Spot ~Always & Forever stamp set. I finished it off by adding a big bow using 2 different satin ribbons.
Entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Celebrate the Occasion ~Any Occasion-must use polka dots
2.) Made Especially For You ~Create a card featuring 3 ribbons
If you are looking for a fun challenge, come join us over at Go Fish Challenge Blog. The challenge goes until the end of the month so you still have plenty of time. Would love to see what you create!!
Thank you so much for visiting and leaving such wonderful comments. I really appreciate your visits!!! Have a great day!

So rough when the little ones get sick...they just can't get comfortable and it's so hard for them to clear their little noses...hope she's over it all soon...poor baby. Glad you found some time to sneak a card in. This monkey image never fails to cheer me up...he's so fun paired with that doily. Totally cute!

So clever to have the monkey reaching for the perfect little heart.. and with his doodled-up self and googly eyes, he's just beyond precious. I love the color scheme you have going on here, plus the gorgeous embossing, ribbons, and doily! There are always a million things to love about your cards, my friend. ReplyDeleteHoly guacamole, Sherrie, I didn't even recognize the elements of the SPS kit until you mentioned them, then I went back to your picture and saw each one. Way to rock the kit! It is sold out, by the way :) The monkey is perfect and adorable.
ReplyDeleteI hope your granddaughter is feeling better. It is so hard to see them feeling so badly. She is lucky to have you. My grandmothers both took turns taking care of me when I was sick from pre-school...those are some of my fondest memories.
