Space Party!!

Hello Everyone and Welcome the Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!

Happy Wednesday!! Wow, it has been snowing, blowing and drifting here all day. I am off on Wednesday's so since the roads are nasty I put off errands and going to enjoy the day getting caught up on things.  I am also hoping to get in my craft room :)
I have to share with you a project that I made using this wonderful cartridge that I won from one of my dear friends, Lisa from A Mermaids Crafts called Space Party! What a FUN cartridge! I have put together some Space Party decorations and party favors.

Here is a cute little UFO box:) Isn't this just fun?? I added some stitching and some fun bling around the outside of the UFO to spruce it up. I cut this at 3 3/4.

The party favor bag was cut at 6" from the Wrap it Up cartridge which I distressed some with Momento black ink. The Alien was cut at 2 3/4 and the little tag at 1 1/2. The smaller party favor box was cut at 1"  and I added a sentiment which is from Pink By Design ~Tags & Treats set.

I love how that invitation has a pull out for the information to the party:)

The party invitation is cut at 3" and I added a little stitching and the Party Time sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps ~The Charmed Life set.

I have enjoyed creating with this cartridge. I know this cartridge will come in handy for little boy party's :)  Thanks so much Lisa!!!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.)  Made Especially For You ~Using the technique of stitching-faux or real stitching.

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Yeah...it's Friday!! What does everyone have planned for the weekend? I really hope I can get in my craft room this weekend. I could use a little "me" time plus I need to get caught up on some projects and maybe play in a couple challenges:)

Last night I was able to sneak in my craft room for an hour and decided to make a birthday card that I was in need of and also kept in mind a few challenges that are going on out in blog land. I made a center step card. The papers are from a DCWV paper stack-baby girl. I actually love the colors in this stack-such bright and fun colors. The big scalloped circle is from Spellbinders-Lacey Circles which I embossed with a sizzix folder-sorry, don't have the name on that.

The poodle is cut from the Oh, so FUN cartridge-Create A Critter. I cut her at 4 1/4 plus the layers. I embossed the layers with the divine swirls folder and pop dotted her to the scalloped circle. I added a little bling, some doodling and of course some fun satin bows. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps~Amusing Animals set and the face is from Peachy Keen~Critter Faces set. Hope you like it!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1.) Birthday Sundaes ~Stair Step/Center Step/Side Step Birthday Cards!

Krafty Girls-Home Sweet Home Challenge

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Tuesday!!! I wanted to join in on the new challenge blog over at Krafty Girls. Their first challenge is Home Sweet Home- you are to create a project based on a country/state/city/town that represents the place you are from.
I was born and raised in Minnesota and love it. I have come to love it for many reasons. Most of my family members live here which I am so thankful for. I also like the outdoors-camping, fishing, swimming, biking, and snowmobiling. One of things we most enjoyed with our kids was camping so my card was made with that in mind and also the feel of being up north in the woods...etc.

My card base is 4 1/2 x 9 1/4 with the base layer at 4 1/4 x 9. I cut the tree's from the Create a Critter cartrdge at 1.85 x 2.25 and 1.45 x 1.76. The bears are cut at 1.82 x 2.34, 1.31 x 1.72 and .84 x 1.10 from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. The tent is cut at 1.67 x 2.84 from the Camp Out cartridge which I also embossed with the polka dots folder. The Minnesota is cut from Life's a Beach cartridge at 1.21 x 5.23 which I used some foam tape for dimentsion. I found some SU twill tape in my stash so I used that for the ribbon and found a little foliage from the outdoors to finish up my card. The paper for this card is from American Crafts, Lasting Impressions and SU.

I hope your having a wonderful Tuesday evening!!!  I have a quick valentine treat project to share with you.  I didn't have a lot of time but I wanted to use these awesome stamps again that I received from our sponsor, K.Andrew Designs in this weeks challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This is such a fun set:)
I had seen this great video on how to make these little valentine treat pouches and thought it would be fun to make a few of these. I found it at  Liz's Paper Loft and the video is HERE for all the details. All you need is a 6x6 piece of pattern paper to make these treat pouches:) This is a super quick and fun project and you could make a lot in a short amount of time.  Thanks Liz for sharing your cute valentine treat idea!

The animals are all cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge: Elephant cut at 2 1/2

The dog cut at 2 3/4

The seal is cut at 3

The bumble bee is cut at 2 1/2

FCCB Challenge #97-Love is in the Air

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps.with Passion!!

Happy Monday all my crafty friends!  I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Today is another Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. For this challenges, we are to use a heart on our projects.

We have an awesome sponsor this week which is K.Andrew Designs. Some of the design team members were given a wonderful stamp set for this challenge. I was given the "I HEART You" stamp set. This is such a great set for Valentines Day cards-I just love it! Thanks so much:)

Here is my project:

My card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 which I embossed one side using a new embossing heart folder set by Sizzix called~ Love set. I then cut a black layer at 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 which I embossed with the polka dots folder. I cut the hearts at 2 1/2 and 2 1/4 from the Sweethearts cartridge. I inked the edges and then stamped the cute heart image from the I HEART You stamp set. I also stamped the little sentiments and pop dotted them in the center for a little dimension. I cut a border to run along the black layer using a Martha Stewart heart punch.  I tied a bow with striped ribbon from SU along with adding a  prima flower, button and twine to finish it up. I actually used all scraps from my bin for this card AND used up some older SU ribbon along with the black prima flower I have had laying around for a long time. Yeah, feels good to use up some scraps:)

Be sure to pop over to Fantabulous Cricut to check out all the details and to see what the other Design Team Members created for this awesome challenge.  I am sure you will be inspired!!!  I hope you come join us in this fun challenge-can't wait to see what you create:)

Birthday Wishes

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are enjoying your weekend:) I am really having a hard time right now getting in my craft room to craft. I really apologize for not posting many projects lately:(  I am wanting to but I ended up getting so far behind at work and at home after being sick. Now, little Arya has been sick again and trying to help my daughter and fiance a little to give them a break.

I also will be doing some traveling back and forth home (a couple hrs away) for a while because my Mother is having surgery and will be in need of some help for a while. So, if you notice not much being posted other than for my Design Team project commitment's, that's why. Please know as soon as things settle down, I will be back with some projects! I promise:)

I do have a quick card to share with you today.  The card base is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and the base layer is
5 3/8 x 5 3/8 which the top part was embossed with the sizzix flower folder.  I cut the horse from the Winter Woodlands cartridge at 4" plus all the layers. I embossed some of the layers with the  houndstooth and swiss dots folder. The felt flower and button are from  Making Memories. I added a sentiment which is from SU-So Happy For You set, some rhinestones and a big satin bow for the final touches. I am also entering this in a challenge at  Birthday Sundaes ~Challenge #2-Birthday card
w/sentiment on front.

*** If you are looking for a fun color challenge to play in, be sure to pop over to  Go Fish Challenge Blog. There is still plenty of time for you to come join us! Can't wait to see what you create:)
