Happy Tuesday!!! I wanted to join in on the new challenge blog over at
Krafty Girls. Their first challenge is Home Sweet Home- you are to create a project based on a country/state/city/town that represents the place you are from.
I was born and raised in Minnesota and love it. I have come to love it for many reasons. Most of my family members live here which I am so thankful for. I also like the outdoors-camping, fishing, swimming, biking, and snowmobiling. One of things we most enjoyed with our kids was camping so my card was made with that in mind and also the feel of being up north in the woods...etc.
My card base is 4 1/2 x 9 1/4 with the base layer at 4 1/4 x 9. I cut the tree's from the Create a Critter cartrdge at 1.85 x 2.25 and 1.45 x 1.76. The bears are cut at 1.82 x 2.34, 1.31 x 1.72 and .84 x 1.10 from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. The tent is cut at 1.67 x 2.84 from the Camp Out cartridge which I also embossed with the polka dots folder. The Minnesota is cut from Life's a Beach cartridge at 1.21 x 5.23 which I used some foam tape for dimentsion. I found some SU twill tape in my stash so I used that for the ribbon and found a little foliage from the outdoors to finish up my card. The paper for this card is from American Crafts, Lasting Impressions and SU.

ReplyDeletelove that forest scenery... I'm sure it must be awesome to see all those pine trees and outdoor animals in the wooded areas...Here on the Big Island we have lots of lava fields and ohia trees we don't experience those wild animals the closet we get to anything vicious is wild pigs.

Awwww! Sheri you did a awesome job with your card as always. You really did bring the outdoors to life. I grew up camping every weekend ( summer month only )and then once I was married and had kids I continued on enjoying the outdoors with my two kids......how I miss those days. TFS! your adorable card and your life with us.

What a great card! I love the bears and only Sherrie would put pretty little pink bows on them (well ok maybe I would also :) I just love it Sherrie! The foliage is so awesome! Great job my friend!

The embossed tent is fabulous and I love the variety of trees in your forest. The background is so pretty and I ADORE the bear family, especially the littler ones with their sweet bows. :o) Fantastic ribbon and foliage accent. This is marvelous. I love this challenge! :o)
