I cut the pretty flower from the Flower Shoppe cartridge at 2 1/2 and added a pretty pearl rhinestone to the center. I added a little inking to the project using perfect plum from SU and a beautiful whimsical stamp from My Craft Spot ~Easter set.

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!

Hope your all having a wonderful weekend! I have a Mother's Day card that I would like to share with you that I made for my dear Mother.

My card base is 5 1/5 x 5 1/2 and the base layer at 5 1/4 x 5 1./4. The pretty banner is from the Spellbinders die set called Moroccan Accents. Isn't that pretty?? There are a lot of fun dies in this set.  I cut the layered scallops from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge at 3 1/4 and 3 1/2 which I distress some with Tim Holtz-Victorian Velvet. I also embossed them with the polka dots folder for some dimension. The accent in the middle is also from Spellbinders-Moroccan Accents which I dressed it some with some pearls and a beautiful sentiment from My Craft Spot called Always & Forever set.

The flowers are cut from a die that I just purchased at My Creative Time called Rolled Flower Dies. I can see that I am going to love using this die! They cut out great and east to put together:) The leaves are from a Spellbinders die set called foliage. The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is from My Craft Spot ~Happy Easter set. I finished the card by adding a sheer bow and heart stick pin.

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Saturday!! I have a fun shaped card for you today! I cut the base from the Birthday Bash Cartridge at 5.04 x 5.90 using my gypsy to weld them together and the base layer cut at 4.57 x 5.35. I cut the cut bee hive from the Create A Critter cartridge at 3 3/4 and embossed it with the polka dots folder. I distressed it a bit with TimHoltz-walnut stain and pot dotted it for some dimension.  The adorable little bumble bee is cut at 2 3/4 plus the layers also embossing part of the layers with the swiss dots folder and the houndstooth folder for texture.

I added a sweet little PK cherub face, a touch of glossy accent and rosy cheeks to this adorable bumble bee.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time -the gift card sentiment set. Happy Birthday to you!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

I hope your all having a great day! I have a quick project that I made today for a few challenges going and to add to my birthday card stash since I am a little low on them right now, especially masculine cards.

Believe it or not....no cricut on this project. Surprised???  I am surprised too because when there is a cricut-less challenge, I seriously scratch my head and cannot come up with thing......too funny!

My card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 with a base layer of 4 x 5 1/4. For the car I used a die from Tim Holtz  called Old jalopy. The paper I used for the old jalopy is from lasting impressions called root beer-crinkle.  It was perfect because it already had a weathered, crinkled look to it. I used some corrugated cardboard that I had in my recycling bin for some of the car pieces and for the border edge at the bottom of card.  I distressed all the pieces with Tim Holtz-walnut stain. The adorable little tag and sentiment is from My Craft Spot called tiny tags. Super cute set!! I also used My Creative Time scallop and stitched circle die and added another cute sentiment from that adorable tiny tag set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) My Craft Spot ~Challenge #53-Things that go!
2.) Made Especially For You ~card using recycled material

Double Satin Bow Tutorial

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!

Happy Friday!!!  I hope you all enjoy your weekend. We have a busy one planned so not much crafting over the weekend:(  I will be playing catch up next week!

I have been asked my several blogger buddies about my double satin bows. There really is no trick to it.....I promise!   I did put together a quick tutorial on how I make them and hope it is easy for you to follow.

I use about 18"-20" of satin ribbon. I like to use satin ribbon as it seems to be the easiest for me when  making these double bows. (Crinkle ribbon works great to)

Start off by making a standard bow in the middle of the 18" or 20" ribbon.

Your bow looks something like this.....make sure it's tight.

I then lay my bow on a flat surface as I continue to make another bow over the top of the original one using the remaining ribbon.

Then you pull that tight as well and I just fuss with it a little. Moving it around gently so it doesn't come apart.  I try and get the top bow to lay the opposite direction from the first bow. Then trim of the end piece and voila.....easy peasy!

This is what it should look like:) Would love for you to give it a try.......can't wait to see your creations with your double bows! Have fun!

Thanks for stopping and for all your sweet comments on my bows:)

Well, it's another Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog today. The challenge is Egg-ceptional Easter- make a  project with an egg on it:)

For my project I used the Easter 2010 cartridge.  The Easter basket is cut at fit to page= 10 3/4. I used papers from We R Memory Keepers-Hippity Hoppity line. The cute little chick is cut at 3 1/2 and stamped a little face using the Peachy Keen-critter face set.  I thought I would add a little feather/flower to her to hoping to jazz this chick up!  The grass at 3 1/2 fit to length and the eggs at 3". I embossed some of the eggs using the divine swirls folder and then folded in half and adhered 2 together to make them 3 dimensional. This idea for the 3D eggs came my amazing and talented blogger buddies Lisa at A Mermaids Crafts. Check out her project Here -simply adorable!

I also made a small coordinating 3 x 3 card to go along with this little basket. I cut the scalloped circle from Spellbinders Nestibilities-Lacey circles. The little bunny is cut at 1 3/4 and the sentiment is from My Creative Time ~Color me Happy set.

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
1.)  Krafty Girls #4-For Peep's Sake!
2.) Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge ~Easter Blessings

Thanks so much for visiting,

Guest Designer at Made Especially For You!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

I am super excited today as I was asked to be a Guest Designer over at Made Especially For You today. Thanks so much for having me-I am honored! The sponsor for today's challenge is Robyn Fetish.  I was given this adorable digi to create my project for this weeks challenge:) Isn't this just the cutest digi? To see more of Robyn's digi's go HERE.

The challenge is: Easter theme and use a digi:)
I used my copics to color in this adorable little bunny. I have to tell you.... I am new at this copic coloring and I am a bit nervous about posting my work. I am such a beginner at this..so don't laugh, hehe! I am not sure about it yet...I think I feel more comfortable with sticking to the cricut cutting and scratch the coloring, lol! I have to maybe consider taking some classes...what do you think?

My card base is cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge at 4.59 x 5.38 and the base layer at 4.11 x 4.64. The scalloped layer is from Quick Kutz eyelet circle dies and the image sized at 3.2 x 2.79. I added a cute little sentiment from My Creative Time ~Color Me Happy set and again the scalloped circle from Quick Kutz.  I added a little stitching and a big double gingham bow to finish the card.

Thanks so much again for having me!!! Be sure to pop over to Made Especially For You Challenge Blog to check out the amazing projects by the Design Team and join in the fun challenge!!!
