Proud to be an American!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Wednesday all!! I hope your all having a awesome week so far. I have been a busy bee here trying to catch up on things, get my house in order as the next two weekends we are out of town for weddings. It's been a good week though because my guys have all been gone to Canada fishing. It's amazing how much you can get done when everyone is gone!

I had a little time yesterday to pop in my craft room and made a card for the Peachy Keen Stamps Sketch Challenge which I thought would be fun to join in.

I made this card using papers from We R Memory Keepers-Yankee Doodle. My card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and the base layer is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. The pattern paper is cut at 5 1/4 x 4 1/2 which I rounded the edges. I embossed the 3 banners with the star folder and added some fun bakers twine around them along with a bow. The little girl is cut from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge at 4.50 along with the layers, using my gypsy so I could hide the face to use the adorable Peachy Keen~wide eyed kids set. I gave this cutie patootie rosy cheeks and used glossy accents on her eyes. I embossed her dress and hair with the divine swirls folder, added a little doodling, bling and the awesome sentiment is from My Creative Time ~My Little Firecracker set.

Thanks for visiting,
Sherrie k

  1. She is a cutie. I have been in a patritoic mood lately loving these colors. Carri and I have been chatting about our cards, and I am curious to know what you do with all of yours. Do you donate, collect, or find a home for all of them?

  28. Sherrie, this little girl is too cute! I love the flower in her hair! I also like how you added texture to her hair. I never thought of doing that! Perfect details and great colors. I saw your question about living close to Rocky Point. I'm in AZ but lived in Mexico when I was little. I was farther south in a state named Guerrero. We used to go to Acapulco beach. Haven't been there in a long time though. Do you go to Rocky Point often? A couple friends go there each break, it looks like a fun place to go.
