Season's Greetings

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Hi everyone....hope you all had a great weekend! I know that many of you are in Hurricane Sandy's path, please know I am thinking of you and sending prayers your way. Stay safe!

I was excited to see a couple challenges that are Christmas themed...I really need the motivation to get started on my Christmas cards, yeah! Anyway, so as soon as I seen them I knew I needed to join in the challenges over at Crafty Ribbons ~Christmas theme and Inspired By Stamping ~Use the colors, Gold, silver and Blue using the photo here for inspiration...

My card base is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 using some pretty shimmery silver paper. I then layered the base layer color blue and then beautiful snowflake paper that I had in my scraps. I then added a pretty doily along with a shiny gold band which was embossed with the snowflake folder.

The labels are from the Spellbinders Labels Eleven which again the gold layer was embossed with the snowflake folder. I pop dotted the tag which is from the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two and the pretty sentiment is from My Pink Stamper~Winter Punnies set. I found this fun glittery snowflake in my stash and was perfect to add as an embellishment to the card. I popped a butterfly to the center of the snowflake that was from EK Success-layering butterfly punch.

I finished it off by adding some pearls, pearl flourishes, a big shimmery double bow and a small tag that I fussy cut along with a sentiment from My Pink Stamper~Christmas Wishes. I apologize for the picture of this. I just couldn't seem to get the lighting right on this, ugh!

Ghosts Night Out...... Party Favor

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Hi Everyone,
It sure is starting to feel like winter this week.  It has been rainy, snowing and only a high of 35 the last few days. Wow, such a change from last week. Well, we do know it's around the corner so it might as well get started then. I am hoping to get started on Christmas cards really soon. I picked up some new papers, ribbon and some fun embellishments to get me jump started. I can't believe the stores already have Christmas stuff out....yikes, it seems earlier every year.

I made a cute little Halloween party favor for the girls that I meet up with for coffee a couple times a week. I thought it would be fun to use up some scraps too that I am over flowing with. Anyhow, here it is:)

I used some fun double sided paper in my stash and cut it 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 and then scored it at 4 and 4 3/4. I added a border using Martha Stewart gooey drip punch-love this punch:)  I cut the cute little ghost at 3" from the Simply Charmed cartridge and added a  Peachy Keen Stamps face from the Make a Monster Face set and then some rosy cheeks. I also had some stitched ribbon in my scraps of ribbon that worked perfectly for a cute little bow.  I have a yummy treat bag filled with Hershey's mini candy bars and closed it by using a couple Halloween brads. I finished it with tying on some black and green tulle bow and added a sentiment from My Creative Time ~All Around Halloween set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Go Fish Challenge #27-Halloween 3D
2.) Twisted Tuesday Challenge#29-Anything but a card with a twist-use the color orange on project
3.) Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #43-Candy-licious project
4.) Bitten by the Bug 2 ~Challenge-Halloween treat container

Too cute to spook....

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

I hope your having a wonderful Wednesday! I didn't have a lot on my agenda this morning so I thought I would try and get some craft time in. Yeah! I wanted to make a card for my dear friend Naomi from Creative Bug on the Loose who had put out a personal request for cards for her son to let him know we are thinking of him. Of course, I wanted to help!

Michael is autistic and will be having surgery very soon on both of his feet. I encourage you to join in and send a card to help lift their spirits and put a smile on that little guys face. You can get all the information HERE about this amazing story.

I wanted to send him a Halloween card and some yummy treats for when he is feeling better. I used the Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangles for the base of my card. The base layer was embossed using the polka dots folder and then inked around the edges with Momento tuxedo black. I then layered another rectangle using papers from My Minds Eyed-Haunted paper pack.

The cute little monster is cut at 4" from the Mini Monster cartridge which I glittered and sparkled him up with some fun black diamond stickles. I pop dotted him to the shadow cut on a shimmery silver paper I had in my stash and then added a wobble. I think Michael will get a kick out of that:)  The cute face on the monster and the pumpkin is from Peachy Keen Stamps~Mini Monster Mash set. I added some glossy accents to the eyes to livin' this monster and pumpkin up:) The pumpkin is cut at 1 1/4 and I hid some of the features using my gypsy so I could stamp the adorable face. The banner is from Spellbinders~Ribbon Banners and the sentiment is from K Andrews Designs Fall-o-ween set.

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
1.) My Craft Spot ~Challenge #74 Little Monsters
2.) DL.ART Thankful Thursday-pumpkin
3.) Peachy Keen Stamps ~Challenge #40- Just cards-Word Up
4.) Die Cuttin Diva's~ Shimmer, Glitter and Gloss

Eeek, Spider Cider!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Our weather was actually pretty darn nice the last few days and I was able to get out in my flower gardens to clean things up and get them all ready for the winter. Felt good to get that behind me :)

I also found a little time in my craft room, yeah! I made a quick card to share with you using some fun papers from My Minds Eye called Haunted. Cute paper in this pack! I thought it would be a fun Halloween card to give it to one of my coffee buds along with a coffee shop gift card. So, what do you think? Eeek, ha?

I cut the coffee mug from the Love You a Latte cartridge at 5 1/4 plus the layers. I inked the edges using the Memento Tuxedo Black for a little dimension. I tied on a black satin double bow and added a little tag and twine from My Craft Spot along with the sentiment which is from Pink By Design~Tags and Treats set. The center sentiment is from My Craft Spot~Spooky Treats set and the spider is cut at 2" from the Oct 31st cartridge. I also used a snow marker to add creepy looking froth to the top of the drink. Looks pretty cool :)

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Fantabulous Cricut ~Challenge # 134-Halloween and used colors orange and black
2.) Inspired By Stamping ~Challenge #31-Halloween photo inspiration

Your Invited!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a great Sunday! Well, believe it or not little Arya will be soon celebrating her 1st birthday in a couple of weeks. I can't believe how fast this last year has gone. It seems I was just posting that my Granddaughter was born. Here is a couple pictures of Arya that I took just a week ago to share with you:)

She loves going into my kitchen drawers...and of course, taking everything out, lol! Stinker!

My daughter and her hubby picked out the Elmo theme for Arya's birthday since she loves Elmo. I was asked to make her invitations and couldn't pass that up. I hope to find the time to do the decorations as well and will post some pictures of that after her birthday.

My card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I cut Elmo at 4" plus all the layers from the Elmo's Party cartridge. I embossed that background frame with the spots and dots folder. I added a strip of orange at 1 x 5 1/2 and also embossed that plus added a little twine bow. I really wanted to add a fun double bow but it's to hard to mail the invited with that large a bow. The "1" is cut at 1" from the Birthday Bash cartridge and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom ~Wedding Wishes set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Crafty Ribbons ~Challenge #30-Children's Birthday
2.) Little Scrap Pieces ~Use the color blue

Well, how is everyone?? Are you ready for the weekend?  As of right now, I have a pretty quiet weekend...but you know how quickly that can change!  I am anxious to try and get in my craft room some:)

I have a card that I made using the newly Nesting Eyelet Square die by Quik Kutz. The base and base layer were from these dies. I used paper from DCWV Midnight Spell Stack that I am trying to use up.

Frankenstein's bride is cut at 4 3/4 plus the layers from the Happy Haunting's cartridge. I thought it would be fun to add some gems to the gown. What do you think?

The flowers are made using My Creative Time rolled flower die. I also accompanied the flowers with a black and white tulle double bow and a sparkly brad in the centers of the flowers. The label is also from the Nesting Eyelet Square die set and the sentiment is from Pink by Design A haunting we will go set. The flourish is from Recollections.

Happy Fall!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!

Hi Everyone! I hope your having a great evening! My day started off pretty crappy. I woke up with the stomach flu :(  I was hoping it would miss me but how can that be when everyone in my household has been sick since last Saturday, including baby Arya and the newlyweds. Lets hope this gets past us all real soon!

I have a  fun project to share with you that I made a few days ago. I made a fun little treat bag/party favor that I am going to make for all my co-workers. I cut the pumpkin from the TBBM2 cartridge at 9". I used papers from My Minds Eyes called Playful Posies. I inked all the edges with Momento-rich cocoa. The leaves are from Spellbinders Foliage die set and the fun crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM called goblin green. I also added bakers twine from My Craft Spot called Halloween Chocolate Truffle along with a little rhinestone.

The tag and sentiment is from My Creative Time ~teeny tag greeting and the Mixed Holiday Sentiments set. I filled this with some yummy snack size candy bars... I think this would also make a fun place setting party favor/table decoration during the holiday season by adding a name to the tag. I hope you like it!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1.) More than Favors- Wacky Wednesday Challenge#75-Fall Theme
2.) My Craft Spot - Challenge # 72- A treat for you

IBSIC #29

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Happy Wednesday! I am excited that I was able to get in my craft room for a bit this evening. I wanted to join in the challenge over at Inspired By Stamping so I got busy and here is what I created. In this challenge you are to use browns, green, creams/whites.

This weeks photo inspiration:

The card base is 5 x 5 and the base layer is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4. I added another strip of pattern paper at the bottom which is 2 x 4 3/4 along with some lace trim. The white trim is from Reasonable Ribbon and the cream lace I had in my stash-not sure where it came from, lol!  The pattern paper used is from We R Memory Keepers-Autumn Splendor.

I cut the label from Lacy Labels at 3 1/4. I stamped the beautiful sentiment that is from Inspired By Stamping called Heartfelt Gratitude and then embossed the label with a sizzix flower folder. I added some pretty flowers in the corner that are from Shabby Chic and Recollection. I also topped it off with a pretty pearl flourish and a big brown satin bow.

Party Favors

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!

Hi Everyone!! I hope your having a fabulous week. I am trying to get caught up on things and find my way to the craft room.  I found these really fun clear plastic boxes from a local craft store and thought it would be fun to make these for the older kids at Arya's daycare. I will also be making these for the younger kids too, just have to find the right treat for them. Arya has no teeth yet so these would be a little tough for her but maybe little animal crackers or gold fish. These would also be a super cute little party favor at a Halloween Party for each little kiddo to take home:)

I added a little ribbon/twine and a cute little tag using My Creative Time -stitched circle die and the All Around Halloween set to decorate this little party favor up....very simple!

I am entering this in a challenge over at Decorate to Celebrate Challenge #35-Halloween Party.

You've got Purse-onality!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Hi Everyone!!!! Wow, it's been a while, ha??? Oh boy do I miss all my blogger friends and my craft room!! Thank you for all of you who kept in touch with me the last month. You are all too kind!!!! As you know it has been crazy. It felt like a whirlwind but the wedding is finally behind us. It was a beautiful wedding and we are so happy for my daughter, her hubby and baby Arya. I hope to get some pictures posted as soon as the photographer get them back to us. My hubby and I are watching Arya all this week as her parents are on their honeymoon. So, it's gonna be a busy but fun week!

For today I have a fun project I would like to share with you that I had a blast making! I made a fun purse using Spellbinders dies that I was inspired again by my friend Lisa at  A Mermaids Crafts and at the Spellbinders Paper Arts to make these fun purses.  For the instructions and details to make one of these fantastic purses, you can go HERE:

For this purse I cut two set of the largest three shapes using the Grand Scallop Rectangles die  for the base. Then I cut the three largest shapes from from the Grand Labels Four die for the top of the purse or flap. For the tag I used  My Creative Time ~Curly Label die. I then adhered all three layer together for the front and back panels. Cut at least 1/2" off the top of each panel so they have a flat surface. I cut them down so the panels are 5" each. I then took a large circle punch to punch a half circle on the front panel of the purse.

I then created the box by cutting a piece of paper 10" x 8". On the 10 side, score at 4 1/4 and 5 3/4-you want a 1 1/2 section in the middle. Then on the 8" side, score 1 1/2 and 6 1/2 and then fold along the score lines. Cut the center score lines on both side, fold into a box and adhere sides together. I then adhere my front an back panels to the box.

On the top panel-flap I scored 3/4" from the center in each direction. The 1 1/2 will be the width of the purse. I then punched in about  1" from with either side for the purse handles and added some fun flower grommets and a pretty ribbon handle. I adhered this top flap to the purse and then added a velcro piece to the purse for opening and closing of the purse.

I added a beautiful glittery flower that I cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge at 3" and 3 1/2" and some of the flower pieces are cut at 3" from the Flower Shoppe cartridge along with a little tulle. I embossed the flower pieces using the swiss dots folder and the divine swirls folder for a little pop. The sentiment on the tag is from My Pink Stamper-Pinka-licious.

I also made a quick 3 x 3 card to go along with this purse. I cut the accent from the Spellbinders Moroccan Accent die and added a sentiment in the center from Hero arts along with the beautiful butterfly that is from a Martha Stewart's butterfly layering punch.

Sorry, for the long post and I hope you enjoyed my project and get inspired to try one of these amazing and fun purses. Again, for all the directions and/or tutorial visit HERE.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Frosted Designs -Fabulous Friday-embossing
2.) Little Scrap Pieces -Fun Friday-use ribbon or twine
3.) Die Cuttin Diva's -Tic Tac Toe- (shabby chic, pearls, ribbon)
