Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!
Hi Everyone!!!! Wow, it's been a while, ha??? Oh boy do I miss all my blogger friends and my craft room!! Thank you for all of you who kept in touch with me the last month. You are all too kind!!!! As you know it has been crazy. It felt like a whirlwind but the wedding is finally behind us. It was a beautiful wedding and we are so happy for my daughter, her hubby and baby Arya. I hope to get some pictures posted as soon as the photographer get them back to us. My hubby and I are watching Arya all this week as her parents are on their honeymoon. So, it's gonna be a busy but fun week!
For today I have a fun project I would like to share with you that I had a blast making! I made a fun purse using Spellbinders dies that I was inspired again by my friend Lisa at
A Mermaids Crafts and at the
Spellbinders Paper Arts to make these fun purses. For the instructions and details to make one of these fantastic purses, you can go
HERE:
For this purse I cut two set of the largest three shapes using the Grand Scallop Rectangles die for the base. Then I cut the three largest shapes from from the Grand Labels Four die for the top of the purse or flap. For the tag I used
My Creative Time ~Curly Label die. I then adhered all three layer together for the front and back panels. Cut at least 1/2" off the top of each panel so they have a flat surface. I cut them down so the panels are 5" each. I then took a large circle punch to punch a half circle on the front panel of the purse.
I then created the box by cutting a piece of paper 10" x 8". On the 10 side, score at 4 1/4 and 5 3/4-you want a 1 1/2 section in the middle. Then on the 8" side, score 1 1/2 and 6 1/2 and then fold along the score lines. Cut the center score lines on both side, fold into a box and adhere sides together. I then adhere my front an back panels to the box.
On the top panel-flap I scored 3/4" from the center in each direction. The 1 1/2 will be the width of the purse. I then punched in about 1" from with either side for the purse handles and added some fun flower grommets and a pretty ribbon handle. I adhered this top flap to the purse and then added a velcro piece to the purse for opening and closing of the purse.
I added a beautiful glittery flower that I cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge at 3" and 3 1/2" and some of the flower pieces are cut at 3" from the Flower Shoppe cartridge along with a little tulle. I embossed the flower pieces using the swiss dots folder and the divine swirls folder for a little pop. The sentiment on the tag is from My Pink Stamper-Pinka-licious.
I also made a quick 3 x 3 card to go along with this purse. I cut the accent from the Spellbinders Moroccan Accent die and added a sentiment in the center from Hero arts along with the beautiful butterfly that is from a Martha Stewart's butterfly layering punch.
Sorry, for the long post and I hope you enjoyed my project and get inspired to try one of these amazing and fun purses. Again, for all the directions and/or tutorial visit
