Looking for a Prince

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!
Happy Wednesday! Well, today has been a busy one for me. Last week I noticed some issues with my computer and it acting a bit strange. Well, wouldn't you knew the next day my computer crashed. So, needless to say I am bummed:(  My laptop is under 2 yrs old and thought I could maybe restore, clean up things and move on. Nope...so, I am here on my new laptop today. However, I am sure I will be spending a lot of time on it trying to learn it as this one has a different operating system. I also will have to go get all the newest updates to cricut sync, the silhouette, etc. I am a little worried about the silhouette as I had the designer addition and no longer have the key code number they gave me for the upgrade. I am sure I will be on the phone with Customer Service. I guess worst comes to worst, I just buy the designer addition again.
Well, after spending my morning working on this, I decided I am done for the day and went in my craft room to craft. I am feeling a bit better!!  I have a card that I made for my son who asked me to create a card for his girlfriend for Valentines Day.

The card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The next layer is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangle and then followed with a Spellbinders Grand Large Label. I stamped this darling bear from the PKSC-13 January 13 Kit and then stamped a few more times to paper pieced some of the outfit. I embossed the outfit with the divine swirls folder and the belly and slippers with the swiss dots folder. I also added a little angel dust to the heart and the cuffs of the outfit for a little sparkle and added dots to the bow for a fun look.
The adorable face is stamped also using the same set. I just love the face, don't you? I had to add rosy cheeks and some freckles too:)

The heart is cut at 2" from the Artiste cartridge and the awesome sentiment is stamped using
My Craft Spot  Build a Valentine set which is one of my favorites right now:)

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Peachy Keen 13-4 challenge-Just Cards-Heart of Hearts
2.) Cut it Up Challenge #11 Love is in the Air

Thanks for stopping...best get back to work!

I used papers from My Minds Eye-Fine and Dandy Boy collection and distressed the edges with my distressing tool along with inking the edges with frayed burlap. The tags are cut at 1 1/2 and 1 3/4 from the Art Philosophy cartridge and then stamped using My Craft Spots Birthday Wishes stamp set. The
fun banners are My Craft Spot Lacy Banners Metal Dies stamped using the fun Chunky Alphabet for the letters and then weaved some yummy My Craft Spot Traditional Baby Blue Bakers Twine through the loops and tied off with little bows. Congratulations-U Rock!

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all having a great day! I have been a busy bee today. I have been spending some time today cleaning and organizing my craft room.  It seriously looks like a disaster :( So, I decided I would quickly make a card for a few challenges that I just had to play in and then....get busy! So, that is what my afternoon is all about. I know I will feel so much better once it's clean and neat! Anyone else a messy crafter at times?

I made a quick card for my son who has a huge passion for music and to congratulate him on his classes at Julliard. I tried to keep it a bit on the masculine side (not happening, lol) which I always have such a hard time with because I like bling, ribbon and fun embellishments. So, anyway...hope you like it!

My card base is cut at 5.00 x 9.23 from the Artiste cartridge and used my gypsy to weld together. The base layer at 4.53 x 8.36 and the next layer is a label cut at 3.59 x 4.02 and 3.71 x 4.16 also from the Artist cartridge. I embossed it with the spots and dots folder. I added a center mat, embossed with the Allegro folder and then used a Martha Stewart punch for the border.

I used My Craft Spot cappuccino twine from the Twinery and a sweet tag using the Tiny Tags Metal Dies and the Tiny Tags 2 stamp set.

The guitar is cut at 4 3/4 from the Life's a Party cartridge, inked up with walnut stain, then added a crinkle ribbon bow using My Craft Spot chocolate truffle ribbon and then popped the guitar up on the label. The congratulations is stamped with My Craft Spot Sweet Sentiment #2  stamp set, the bling from recollections and fun little brad from SU.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Paper Playtime Challenge #2-Use brown on your project
2.) Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #145-The Sound of Music
3.) Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #99-Edge punch with ribbon
4.) Twisted Tuesday Challenge #41-Tic Tac Toe and Crafty Machines (twine, sparkle an congratulations)

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!

Hi Everyone and happy Wednesday! It has been extremely cold here the past few days. We have had a high of -9 below and dips to -45 in the evening hours. I seriously don't even want to go out! They say we are suppose to warm up and then another cold snap again. Yuk! It's time for a vacations..somewhere WARM!

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I thought I would work on a few more cards so I am
not rushing as it gets closer.

Here is my card for some Valentine inspiration using My Craft Spot Always & Forever stamp set. The perfect set to have for your Valentine cards:)

I made this cute heart shaped card using my gypsy and welding the shapes together. I cut them at 5.99 x 5.61 from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge. The smaller heart shape is cut at 5.75 x 5.39 and embossed with a sizzix folder-sorry don't have the name on this one but it has a beautiful flower/heart pattern on it.

I also cut the cute little koala bear from the Create A Critter cartridge at 3.32 x 4.34 and used the hide feature so I could stamp the face using the PK critter face set. The little flower is cut at 2" from the Artiste cartridge which I inked up a bit along with some of the other pieces with Tim Holtz fired brick. The sweet sentiment in the heart is My Craft Spot Always & Forever stamp set. I added some crinkle ribbon and the yummy twine is Divine Valentine Twist from My Craft Spot. The fun button and flourishes are from Recollections which I purchased at Michael's.

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!

Hi all! I hope your having a fabulous day! Just when we thought it was going to warm up, bamm!! Arctic freeze, yikes! It is freezing here in MN!!!  We were -45 below last night and the schools are closed all over the north land. They are advising us to stay in..... wish my work would close, lol! Now we are hoping for it to warm up by the end of the week, let's hope!

I took advantage of the sale that was going on at
Peachy Keen and purchase the fun PKSC-13 January 2013 Kit of the Month. It is SO adorable!

Here is a project that I came up with using this fun set. I am entering it in the Peachy Keen 13-3D Challenge which is to create a 3D project and include a bear.

I cut this fun box from the Wrap it Up cartridge at 9 1/2. I inked all the edges with walnut stain and then adhered a small accent piece to add some color and dimension. The next layers are Spellbinders Grand Label Four and then the Classic Rectangles Squares. I embossed the square with a sizzix flower folder and pop dotted this adorable bear up on it.

The bear is from the awesome PKSC-13 January 2013 Kit of the Month. Isn't this just the cutest bear??  So many options too! I stamped the face with the NEW popular favorite-Teddy Bear Asst face set.

I stamped and fussy cut around the bear.  I then did the same for the bears outfit using papers from My Minds Eye-Lost & Found set.  I added some fun heart balloons cut at 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I stamped the cute sentiment from My Craft Spot Build a Valentine stamp set and then added My Craft Spot trendy twine pink sorbet twine to the balloons to gather them in her hand.

I then topped it off with some crinkle ribbon from 3Girl JAM-colors-antique white, baby girl, and merlot and  then added My Craft Spot trendy twine pink sorbet,  tiny tags metal die and sentiment from tiny tags 2 stamp set for the sweet tag.

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!

Hi Everyone! It's Friday again.....Wow, doesn't it seem like this year is moving along at a good
clip? Well, it's time for another FUN Friday challenge at
Little Scrap Pieces and we hope you come join in the challenge.
Today the challenge is: Use a flower on your project.
 Doesn't that sound like fun??
Here is my project for some inspiration:

I was in need of making a couple thank yous and I thought it would be fun to do something other than a card. So, here is what I came up with:) I have created a small gift that has a tag pull out with a  little surprise.

I used a fun My Craft Spot itty bitty bag and decorated it up with a fun paper doily. I wrapped the outer part of the bag with My Craft Spot maraschino twinery twine and then layered a fun tag using the Tiny Doilies Metal Dies and the sentiment stamped is from the Thank You  stamp set, all from My Craft Spot

The flowers are My Creative Time rolled flower dies which I inked up and added little pearl to the center.

I cut a pull out tag, one at 4" and the other at 3 3/4" all from the Birthday Bash cartridge. I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz victorian velvet. Here is the surprise: I adhered a yummy ghirardelli caramel square down and added another sweet sentiment just below that using the same stamp set from My Craft Spot. There is also room on the back side of the pull out for your should you want to include a message:) Hope you like it!

Be sure to stop over and check out all the amazing projects the Design Team
has created for you and then come back and play along! We would LOVE to see what you create!

I used papers from the My Minds Eye-Merry collection for this card. The card base is 5 3/4 and the base layer is 5 1/2.  The deer are cut at 3 3/4 and 4" from the Winter Woodland cartridge which were
embossed with the tiny bubbles folder. The tree's are cut at 3" and 3 1/4" which are also
embossed with the divine swirls folder and sanded a bit for dimension. The accent label is cut at
2" from the Artiste cartridge and the beautiful sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Winter Wonderland stamp set.  I tore white paper for the snow, embossed it with the Divine Swirls folder
and added SU mica flakes. I fished it by adding some flourishes along with a
