Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!
Happy Wednesday! Well, today has been a busy one for me. Last week I noticed some issues with my computer and it acting a bit strange. Well, wouldn't you knew the next day my computer crashed. So, needless to say I am bummed:( My laptop is under 2 yrs old and thought I could maybe restore, clean up things and move on. Nope...so, I am here on my new laptop today. However, I am sure I will be spending a lot of time on it trying to learn it as this one has a different operating system. I also will have to go get all the newest updates to cricut sync, the silhouette, etc. I am a little worried about the silhouette as I had the designer addition and no longer have the key code number they gave me for the upgrade. I am sure I will be on the phone with Customer Service. I guess worst comes to worst, I just buy the designer addition again.
Well, after spending my morning working on this, I decided I am done for the day and went in my craft room to craft. I am feeling a bit better!! I have a card that I made for my son who asked me to create a card for his girlfriend for Valentines Day.
The card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The next layer is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangle and then followed with a Spellbinders Grand Large Label. I stamped this darling bear from the PKSC-13 January 13 Kit and then stamped a few more times to paper pieced some of the outfit. I embossed the outfit with the divine swirls folder and the belly and slippers with the swiss dots folder. I also added a little angel dust to the heart and the cuffs of the outfit for a little sparkle and added dots to the bow for a fun look.
The adorable face is stamped also using the same set. I just love the face, don't you? I had to add rosy cheeks and some freckles too:)
The heart is cut at 2" from the Artiste cartridge and the awesome sentiment is stamped using
My Craft Spot Build a Valentine set which is one of my favorites right now:)

Oh what a cutie, she is going to love her card when your son gives it to her on V-day.... Such a sweet image..I hope all goes well with the computer and all the programs... Sound like I feel a bit of frustration going on . Hope everything goes back to normal....
ReplyDeleteSmile Sherrie :) here's a big blogging hug from me to you!
Oh so sorry you are experiencing the whole computer issue! I hope you can get it all worked out with your Silouette hook up to your new laptop!
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, I love how you tucked the image in the corners and the freckles are just too clever and cute!!! Awesome job and glad you feel a little better, you will get the hang of it. Hugs
Oh this is adorable! Wow, never thought about keeping the key code number for the upgrade on Silhouette. Just upgraded a couple weeks ago, better go back in my in-box and find that code! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Chriss
This is so sweet, Sherrie!! I love the adorable bear and his rosy cheeks!! His embossed outfit is so cute!! What an awesome, happy card!! Your son's girlfriend will absolutely love this!!
ReplyDeleteUgh with your computer problems. I had the same thing happen about a year ago, also with a laptop that wasn't even two years old. I think they are built to quit working so you have to upgrade constantly :( I had to switch to a new operating system, too and that was hard. I haven't upgraded to Windows 8 yet, and I'm dreading it. I read somewhere that it is completely different. I hope you are able to get everything transferred smoothly. Have a wonderful evening my sweet friend!!
Hugs, Lisa :)

Oh Sherrie, what a day you had! I'm so sorry about your computer! Computers are totally wonderful...when they work! Mine crashed twice last year and it was terrible. I called Silhouette and they were wonderful to help me out. I didn't have my numbers either and they still were able to fix everything and restore my files. Hope it goes as well for you. Your computer may have been a pain, but your card is just darling! I love the color combo and that sweet little bear. He turned out soooo cute! I'm sure your son's girlfriend is going to love this little guy! Hope tomorrow is a better day ♥
