Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!!!
Hello my crafty friends! I hope your having a fabulous day! I have a card to share with you that I made for a friend of mine using some new goodies I purchased at Hobby Lobby:) Did I mention we now have a Hobby Lobby about 20 minutes away, wahoo!!!! I am in trouble now,lol~ The closest one before to me was about 200 plus miles so I am tickled!!!!
My card base is 5 x 5 which I embossed the front layer using the cuttle bug honey comb folder. I then added a strip of chevron pattern paper along with a border using a Martha Stewart border punch. The label is a Spellbinders Label 9, followed by a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square. I cut the next square at 2" from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge (embossed with honey comb folder) and then a Classic Scallop Rectangle large die. The pretty birdie is from the Spellbinders Bird Sanctuary die set.
The sentiment is stamped with the My Creative Time ~Turn that frown upside down set. I have distressed some of the edges using Tim Holtz-frayed burlap. The fun paper flowers and flourishes are from Michael's and then finished the card by topping it off with a fun double bow.

I have to get my fix when I visit my sister who is 3 1/2 hrs away.
Oh aren't you lucky to have that craft store close by to you...I wish we had a Hobby Lobby on my island, for sure I would get in trouble... LOL! Love your pretty bird card, love the coordination with the colors and those dies....

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful Love all your layers and elements-- I guess hobby Lobby's are popping up all over the place. I visited our new one last week - but it is 50 miles away near Michaels and Joannes- Other than that I go to our local craft store- They carry quite a bit but pricey.I just don't get to do it tooo often.

What a gorgeous card Sherrie! I love those rich, bold colors and pretty layers. Your card is just full of so many lovely accents and just comes together beautifully! Enjoy your Hobby Lobby - ours is about 20 minutes from my house and I can just hear the calling my name if I don't visit every few days..lol!
ReplyDeleteFirst off... I gotta say I'm waaayyy JEALOUS!!! The nearest Hobby Lobby to me is in the next State! For real! It's a 2 1/2 hour drive to get to it... Sooo I'm a bit jealous that you got one 20 minutes away! LOL And on that note.. Your card looks fabulous Sherrie! I like the classic/timeless look.... Or at least to me that's what it looks like! My dear friend, I apologize for the delay! I've been away for a couple of days to try and kick this bug to the curb! I'm happy to be back playing catch-up today and was even a little crafty. :o) This card is so gorgeous, Sherrie! The color combo is unique and beautiful.. I love the sweet birdie perched atop the joyous sentiment. The embossing is lovely and I adore the oodles of layers you used. :o) Beautifully done, as always! (And WOOHOO for a Hobby Lobby nearby! They'll know you well.. hehe!)
