Wow, the weekend went fast, ha? I was gone the last few days on a girls weekend getaway. We had a great time spending time together :) We also got a jump start on our Christmas shopping, took in a large craft show and ate at some fabulous restaurants. Wow, I couldn't believe all the people out shopping over the weekend!! When do you start your Christmas shopping??

Here is my take on the sketch:
When I saw the sketch I immediately thought that this would make a great Christmas card and a gift card holder all in one. You know...for those hard to buy for kind of people on your list that you give gift cards to? This holds those gift cards perfectly!
I added a small panel in the center of the card and created a fun border with a MS border punch. I then layered the pretty snowflake border on top of that.
The snowflake border is My Craft Spot Snowflakes Border Metal Die which was cut and layered with foam dots for dimension. I added a small purple rhinestone to the center for added bling. Isn't that border beautiful? This is such an awesome die!
I stamped the snowman image with the Stampin' Around Christmas stamp set and layered it on a scallop that is from the Tiny Doilies Metal Die set and then onto a pennant that was fussy cut out.
The tag is cut at 3 3/4 and 4" from the TBBM2 cartridge which I layered together. I tied some AC gingham ribbon, purple plum twine and a fun snowflake that was in my stash to finish it off. All I have to do is pick up the gift card and adhere it to the pull out tag and it's ready to go :)

What a beautiful card Sherrie! I love the colors and those snowflakes. Hard to think about snow when it was 71 degrees yesterday and will be 74 today in NC. Glad you had a great weekend. With seven kids, I started my Christmas shopping a few months ago. Have a great day my friend!

ReplyDeleteP.S. In response to your comments on my blog, I am older than I look (53, !!), but I also married a man 6 years older than me who already had 4 kids. His youngest boy and my boy were on the same soccer team when they were 10 years old, and we have been together ever since. We have no STEPS in our family, we are simply FAMILY :)

Wow, in a little jealous you got your Christmas shopping started. I don't think I will have time until after Thanksgiving :( I may do a little more on line shopping this year but I always feel like there's less fun in that :)

I love the sketch this week and once again you did a awesome job with it. Sounds like you had a fun weekend with the girls. Here in Alberta it is to darn cold to leave the house! I just checked the weather and it is -21 even to cold for my poor little puppy! LOL! The snowflake border is gorgeous and I love that you made a purple Christmas card. :o) The doily sentiment looks beautiful atop the banner and I of course LOVE the peek of the pocket contents. Oh Sherrie ~ this is simply BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVE how you used the color purple ~ I so struggle with that color so when I see someone use it I am in AWE! The details and concept is just AMAZING!! What a great idea!!! Sounds like a wonderful weekend! Christmas shopping ~ it coming close?? LOL! I am the last minute person and I absolutely HATE that I do that! I honestly can't think about it until after Thanksgiving!
