A Short Break

Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!
Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to do a small post to let you know that I will have to step back from commenting/visiting and posting this next few weeks and this is why:

I happen to come home from work yesterday and realized there was a water supply line break in my main floor bathroom which caused a lot of damage to not only that room but my lower level utility room, bathroom, shower, sauna and laundry room.

My hubby and son's happen to be gone on a remote fishing trip to Canada. So therefor, I'm on my own. I have a company here doing the clean up, sanitizing and now demolishing the lower level bathroom and completely removing walls and the sauna.

Okay, seriously...I am in tears! If you remember about 2 yrs ago we were hit with the horrible flooding in our area and did extensive damage to our lower level and now this! Both times, my hubby was on fishing trips in Canada! He is NO longer visiting Canada.....haha! Just kidding...well, maybe not!

So, please don't forget about my little Ol' blog~I will be back real soon! I will try and visit blogs but my commenting will be limited along with crafting for now.
Thanks for understanding!
Sherrie K

Don't worry about comments or Blog visits, we will all be here when you get all cleaned up. Good luck with all the work that will be going on in your home. 4. I am so sorry. But I can so relate. We have ice damming up under our shingles and a lot that has blown into our attic. It's now melting and I have water coming through multiple spots in our ceiling. I want to cry.

This is terrible news!!! So sorry to hear this!! I will keep you in my thoughts & hope it all goes smoothly for you.
Can I tell you something odd...?
The only 2 times my hubby went fishing in Canada in a really remote area w/no phone, etc... The girls & I had major "catastrophes" here, too..!!
I think hubbies should be banned from fishing in Canada. It's just too dangerous for us..!!

Sending you hugs & prayers -- & loads of well wishes for really good contractors !!! Hoping the job gets done well for you, sweetie !! Xo

  24. Oh Sherrie! I am so sorry to read this!! We had a flood a few years ago - and my husband was gone too. I was so upset and frantic as the water was still coming in. However, in the grand scheme of things, it all turned into a blessing in disguise. That all said, my heart goes out to you, especially as you are handling all this alone. I'm not sure I would go as far as to ban your husband from visiting the AMAZING country of Canada though. ;) That would just be cruel and unusual punishment!!

In all seriousness, you are in my thoughts and prayers. xox
