Hello and Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion!
Hello my crafty friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Thank you SO much for all your kind words and comments last week~it was a little stressful to say the least but everything is much better! My hubby is back from Canada~yeah! I'll tell you, I was never so happy to see him!
We have things pretty much under control now and waiting for the insurance company this week to get back to us with the estimate to remodel that area. I still can't believe that a little hose under the bathroom vanity could cause that much damage!
I hope to get back in the swing of things real soon and back to crafting :)

The challenge is: Cute Critters!
How fun is that?
I have a sweet card to share with you that I made for a friend using My Craft Spot's
Tiny Tags 3 and Build a Valentine stamp sets.
I used papers from a Recollections Valentine collection I picked up at Michael's. I love the fun patterns in this pack. I layered my first panel on and did a little stitching along the edges with my sewing machine. The oval layers are cut at 4 1/4 from the Elegant Edges cartridge and the adorable bear is a cut file from the Silhouette store that I cut on my Cameo.
I popped this cutie with foam dimensional tape onto the oval. The little heart in the center of her tummy is stamped with the Build a Valentine stamp set. The banner in the top corner is the Lacy Banners metal die and stamped the sentiment with the Tiny Tags 3 stamp set.
I stamped the face using Peachy Keens newer stamp set called Sweet on You face asst. I colored in the eyes and then layered on some glossy accents. I added rosy cheeks and some freckles...isn't she adorable??

ReplyDeleteSweet bear. Especially like the eyes. Had missed your previoius water damage post. That's no fun & I speak from experience. Last Jul our air conditioner leaked and caused damage to my daughter's bathroom & my hubby';s computer room that is adjacent to the bathroom. The insurance co, State Farm, we wonderful in getting out the restoration people next day. We cleaned up the first day and SF Ins compensated us for doing the initial cleaning. 4 blowers & humidifers for 1 wk took care of the water damage. Restoration people removed part of the flooring in bathroom & comp room and part of wallpaper. Hubby did the rest to save on cost/deductible. Restoration people redid the ceiling. We had Home Depot put in wonderful new tile flooring with a black & white hexagon pattern. Hubby did the wallpaper. Had the restoration people take out the old sink & cabinets which were not damaged & we wished they had been so that we could have gotten replacement cost on that but it was best to remodel now. Bought unfinished vanities which hubby painted black. Ordered sinks from HD and hubby installed. Had a plumber redo the pipes for the new vanities & sink. Hubby connected and everything looks nice. Left to do is the flooring & painting of comp room. Hubby is going to paint ceiling first, walls next & then put down bamboo imitation wood flooring. Long story short it is something I would not wish on anyone for the stress it causes but it is working out.

So glad things are starting to look up Sherrie! I remember when we had a hole in a plastic tube under the vanity when we lived in Vegas.... It was done by the construction crew when they built my house.... it went un-noticed for 2 year.... and we ended up with a HUGE mess... I was already under stress due to my husband having a stroke then... and we were planning on selling the house since he couldn't work when I noticed water in the sitting area which was below my bathroom.... I wanted to cry and I probably did at that time with all the other stress that was going on... it cost the INS. Co. $15,000 to fix all the damage... we even had to have HASMAT come out because black mold was there.... What a NIGHTMARE!!! UGH.... I hope yours gets done quickly and hassle free my friend! :o) By the way your card is soooo stinkin' cute! Those eyes just had me smiling... LOVE IT! :o)
