Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion
Hello Everyone!
I hope you're having a wonderful day!
I will be on vacation starting tomorrow and all of next week...yay! Looking forward to the hot sunny temps and sandy beaches!  I do have a few posts that are scheduled while I am away if all goes well.  I won't have much time on the internet, if any, but will catch up as soon as I return~

Today, I am sharing a pretty card that I made experimenting with some different products again. It is fun trying different techniques and challenging yourself to go outside the box a little, lol! I have to say it is messy but it is cool to see the end results.
I really had a hard time taking a picture because of the glare, ugh! It really is pretty with the sparkle and shine~promise!
I started with a layer of gesso and then using texture paste along with the honey comb embossing folder created a background of texture. I would definitely go heavier on that next time~ I  used Tim Holtz distressed inks, weathered wood and Spun Sugar for the background and around the edges. I sprinkled on Shabby Blue embossing enamel (by the way, I love this product) and heat embossed.
I die cut layers of rings with the Memory Box Small Ringlets which were dipped in Pearl embossing powder and then heat set.
The flowers are from Jaded Blossom's~Roses stamp set which were embossed, fussy cut out and layered in place. The butterfly is from Jaded Blossoms~Spring Dies 2 which I embossed in the Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel. I did the same with the thanks which is wooden piece I had in my stash.
I finished with a pretty bow using Silvery Hue Sea ribbon from DL.ART and jute string from My Craft Spot. I added a little button using the Die Versions~Wee Petites and added the Shabby Blue embossing enamel to that as well. I want to emboss everything, love this stuff... hehe!
I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Jaded Blossom~February Challenge~Flowers
2.) DL.ART February Linky Anything Goes
3.) Scrapy Land Challenge #36 Tie one on (include a bow-die cut or ribbon)

The background is embossed with the swirly vines folder and then misted with Peach Delight glimmer mist. I then layered a pretty paper doily and followed with the label which is from the Stitched Rectangular Frame dies and more set.
The dog house, sweet puppy and sentiment are from the Loyal Friends stamp/die set and the love is from the Love die. I added some ribbon from my stash along with some from my friend, Karen at Little Scrap Pieces and a fun tag using the Vintage Stitched Label Die.

We all had a blast!

I picked the cute EOS lip balm bear file over at the Silhouette Store #72733 and the stamps and dies are from My Creative Time . I used SU card stock and did a little inking with Tim Holtz walnut stain around the edges of the pieces.
The tiny bows are made with My Creative Time's~Fun Size Scallop Stitched Bow die. The little tag is the Square Stitched Goody dies and I stamped the sentiment with I Love You Beary Much stamp set. The tiny little hearts are from the Carved Heart stamp/die set.

LOVE

Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion
Happy Sunday Everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend~
Today I am sharing a pretty card I made using some products I recently purchased and just now getting time to use them. I went a little outside my box with different techniques but so glad I did. A few things I learned along the way, a few things I would change or do a little different but overall I really like how this turned out!

I have been inspired by a few amazing and talented blogger friends with all these crazy techniques, textures, paints etc. So, thank you Lisa at A Mermaids CraftsMona at Cupcake Creations and Pamela at My Little Craft Things for inspiring me to try something new. For those of you who do not know these ladies, be sure to visit their blogs, you will be amazed with their creativity and stunning projects!!

I started with the Nesting Square Doilies Die for the card base and layer of my card. The next panel is My Creative Time's~Stitched Squares Inside and Out which is water colored using Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet and Fired Brick distressed inks. I lightly misted it with water and let it dry. I then added a layer of texture using a Tim Holtz layering stencil and Ranger texture paste. I heat embossed around the edges with Fantasy Silver from Sweet Stamps for a sparkly look.
I layered cheesecloth, then tucked in Memory Box Chandra Stems with an enamel embellishment to the center. I layered a pretty piece of lace along with a border with My Creative Time's~Fun Stitched Edge die. The heart is My Creative Time's~Heart to Heart Love Frames Die. The inside frame is dipped in Top Boss, then Shabby White Embossing Enamel as are the larger butterflies and heat embossed. The gorgeous butterflies are from My Creative Time's~Pretty Butterflies and Dragonfly Die set. The little butterflies are embossed again in the Fantasy Silver embossing powder for a shimmery look.
The flowers are from Recollection, dipped in Angel Dust. The pretty ribbon is Whipped Cream crinkle ribbon from DL.ART and the little button is Wee Petites from Die Versions embossed in Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion
Hi Everyone and Happy Tuesday!
I have a quick and simple little Valentine treat to share today for the little kiddo's on your list. I used stamps and dies from My Creative Time for this project.  They were very easy to create and are fun for giving just a little something to someone on this day. I didn't do a lot of extra details since the little ones are going to just rip into them anyway.
Great for classmates, teachers, etc.
I started with a base of 3 1/2 x 4 1/2. I scored it at 1 7/8 and 2 5/8 and wrapped it around the box of candy hearts. The gray panel is 1 1/2 x 3 1/4 and embossed with a swirl folder from Darice. Before I layered that in place, I wrapped a piece of twine around it and tied a bow for it to close.

The cute doily is created with My Creative Time's Bunch of Stitched Doily Die. The little heart is from the Carved Heart stamp/die set and popped with foam tape.  The sentiment is stamped with the Teeny Tag Holidays stamp set.
I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) DL.ART February Linky~Anything Goes
2.) My Sheri Crafts Challenge #174 Be My Valentine (Use pink, white or red)
3.) Little Scrap Pieces Show if Off Saturday

Craft Room Makeover

Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion
Hi Everyone!
Happy Monday~I hope you had a great weekend!
Can you believe it's February already? Wow, I seriously do not know where the time goes?!

Well. I thought I would take a few minutes and post the progress being made in my little craft room. I have had a few friends asking me to share...so, here you go :)
My old craft room was a similar design with the exception of the higher counter.  I did gain a little extra room in the cabinets on the high counter and in the corners of the room. The opposite side of the high counter also has room for a high stool/drafting chair if needed for Arya (Granddaughter) when she comes to craft. We added additional lighting as well as a spot for taking photos of  my finished projects.  My closet had additional shelving added to make this area more functional as well. I have done a LOT of purging, cleaning and re-organizing. I am happy to say I feel really good about my craft space.

I do have a little more labeling of bins to do. The top shelving about window is where my Cricut cartridge boxes will be stored. I have the booklets and cartridges stored, labeled in plastic snap bins and organized alphabetically for easy access. I have some decorating to finish up along with a magnetic/chalk board I'd like to make for a empty wall I have when first entering into the room. Other than that, I am excited to start creating again!

Thanks for stopping by!
Leave me a comment...I would love to know what you think. Also, looking for any suggestions on decorating tips/idea's for this space~
