Congrats

Welcome to Sherrie Scraps
Hello Everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying your summer! I can't believe it's almost July! Eeek, where does the time go?! As you know, summers are busy....We have had some grad parties, a few summer picnics and of course...weddings which we have one right around the corner again.  As of now, my calendar doesn't look to full for July so hoping to get some craft time in~sure missing crafting and blogging these days!
I have received a few things in the mail lately and I have been dying to get in my craft room to use. I had some time to myself this afternoon and decided to join in on some fun challenges, some even at the last minute, yikes!

I also received some happy mail today from the The Funkie Junkie Boutique which I won in a challenge at Frilly and Funkie and will be creating something real soon with those goodies as well :)

So, I decided today to share a shabby chic wedding card that I created using the new Tweet Home die for my focal point from Tutti Designs which I just love!
I started with my background which is water colored using Tim Holtz Spun Sugar, Peeled Paint and Weather Wood distressed ink. Texture paste was applied through the Tim Holtz layering stencil, then a layer of tack cloth.  I layered a smaller panel, same as base layer and followed with the Honey Comb Remnant die from Memory Box, pearls and lace ribbon.
The Tweet home die was cut out in card stock and foam for dimension. I used shabby white embossing enamel, shabby pink embossing enamel on the birdhouse and the birds with shabby blue all from Simon Says Stamps. I just love this powder...it adds some texture and love the sparkle to!
Beneath the gorgeous flowers which are Prima flowers (new to my stash) is the Memory Box Chloe Stem which my friend Lisa sent me and covered in shabby white embossing enamel.
The bow is created with yummy Pure Love ribbon from my sweet friend, Diana.  On the bow, I used the Wee Petites Buttons Galore in the center from Die Versions. The banner is My Creative Time's Vintage Stitched Label die, the congrats is My Creative Time's  Mini Greeting die and the butterflies are My Creative Time's Pretty Butterflies and Dragonfly dies.
I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Frilly and Funky Challenge~Pastels and Pearls
2.) DL.ART Thankful Thursday~Challenge #183 Summertime
3.) Dies R Us Challenge #51 Butterflies
4.) Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge~Add some Shimmer

Love is in the air

Welcome to Sherrie Scraps
Hello Everyone!
I hope you are having a fabulous week~
I have had a busy week trying to squeeze in a lot of things since my hubby and boys are gone on their annual fishing trip. I have spent a lot of time with my daughter, daughter in law and the 3 grand babies...so much fun! I also made a quick visit back home to spend some time with my folks.  I did managed to squeeze in a little bit of crafty time to, yay! This week has just flown by...can't believe it's Friday tomorrow, yikes!

So, today I have a pretty card to share today using some fun stamps and dies from My Creative Time.  I used the Stitched Squares Inside & Out die set for the base and base layers of my card. The base is water colored with tattered rose and victorian velvet. The outside edges are embossed with Sweet Stamps~Fantasy Silver. I then used TH layering stencils and texture paste to add texture.
I then followed with the next two base layers and then with foam tape adhered the heart in place. The gorgeous heart is Memory Box~Glorious Hearts and Vidalia Heart dies. I just love the Vidalia~so intricate and delicate. Tucked beneath the heart is tack cloth and Memory Box~Chandra Stems.
The sweet little butterflies are My Creative Time's~Mini Butterfly  dies and some covered with Sparkling Ice glitter. The love is My Creative Time's~Love  die and the sentiment is from The sky is the limit stamped onto a Vintage Stitched Label  die.
I am entering this in the following challenges:

Enjoy your day

Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion
Hi Everyone and Happy Wednesday!
I hope you are having a wonderful week~
I have a pretty card to share today using some fun inks, pastes and embossing enamels. It's a little outside my box again and off from my normal style but I had some time in my craft room and one thing led to another and this is what I ended up with~
I really like the end result even though it's a little messy and somewhat time consuming but I do like all the fun layering and lot's of textures.
I have a few panels that I cut and layered on my base using papers from Authentique~delightful collection.  I created the next few layers doing a water colored background with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar and Weathered Wood distressed inks, water and acrylic white paint. I then  applied texture paste through the Memory Box Texture Distressed Grid to create a textured background.
The frame is Spellbinders 5 x 7 Reflective Moment die which was cut a few times and also in foam for dimension. The "enjoy" is from My Creative Time's Fun Notes stamp/die set. I fussy cut a small banner and stamped your day, again using this stamp set. The gorgeous butterflies are My Creative Time's Pretty Butterflies and Dragonfly dies which I embossed them using Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel. So pretty, ha? I tucked beneath the frame a layer of tack cloth along with stems that are the Memory Box Chloe stems.
I finished with a pretty Powder Blue bow with ribbon from DL.ART and tucked in pink jute string form My Craft Spot. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves are My Creative Time's Stitched Leave dies. I used a Tim Holtz splatter brush and some acrylic white paint to add more texture. I need to taper back....I think I got a little carried away, hehe!
I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Frilly and Funky Challenge~Let the Words do the Talking
2.) Scrapy Land Challenge #43 Anything Goes (dies: Spellbinders, Memory Box)
3.) DL.ART June Linky~Anything Goes

Thinking of you

Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion
Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!
So sorry it's been a while since I posted again, Ugh! It has been a bit crazy around here to say the least. My guys are getting ready to take their annual Canada fishing trip in a week SO that means a little more ME time while they are gone!!! Yay!!! Things are starting (slowly) to let up some so I hope to get back to business in my craft room, lol! I will be trying to catch up some this weekend with visits and comments so hang in there with me..I will be making it around~

I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. It was a little cool and rainy to start but then mid Sunday shaped up and the rest was.... gorgeous! I spent part of the weekend trying to get my flower gardens in shape, yard in order and even did a little crafting!
Here is what I created~
I started with a white card stock base followed by a panel using french gray blue acrylic paint. After that dried, I began building the next layer~the faux wood background. Inspired by my friend, Pamellia at My Little Craft Things.....she also has a fantastic video if you want to give it a try.

Again using french gray blue, letting that dry, I then cut into 4 1" strips. I then applied a generous amount of glue, then white acrylic paint on top drying with the heat gun to get the crackle effect.  I distressed the pieces with Tim Holtz frayed burlap and then adhered them in place. I also used the Dylusions 5x8 stencil and texture paste to create more texture to the background pieces.
A layer of lace was put in place, followed by the beautiful butterflies which is Memory Box~Marielle Butterflies die.  I cut it out in foam and a couple times in card stock. The banner was fussy cut out and then layered My Creative Times~Bunch of Stitched Doily die. The sentiment is stamped with My Creative Time~Circle Tab Sentiments.  The Memory Box~Honeycomb Remnant die was used beneath the banner and in the bottom right corner. I finished with flowers from my stash and steel blue ribbon from my friend, Diana at DL.ART.
I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Scrapy Land Challenge #43 Anything Goes
2.) Little Scrap Pieces Show it Off Saturday
3.) DL.ART June Linky Party
4.) Simon Says Monday Challenge~Monochrome
5.) Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #268 Anything Goes w/die cuts
