Welcome to Sherrie Scraps with Passion
Hello Everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday!
I can't believe January is coming to a close...where does the time go?! I was happy to find a little time in my craft room as I am missing it terribly :(
I also had some computer issues and ended up having to purchase a new one. I have been spending a bit of time trying to get things moved over and in their right place~it sure is time consuming but it will be much less frustrating now, yay!

Today I have a couple quick cards to share with you. I used the Cardinal Kisses
stamp set along with the Scallop Hexagon, Stitched Hexagons and the Stitched Circle Dies all from Jaded Blossoms.
My card base and layer is the Scallop Hexagon Dies. The cardinal is from Jaded Blossoms Cardinal Kisses stamp set.
I colored the cardinals with copics and then Wink of Stella. I added some crystal glitter to the branches and then added a pretty double bow, button and some jute twine. The ribbon is from my sweet friend, Diana at DL.ART.
The sentiment in the corner is stamped onto a Stitched Circle Die and then layered onto a Scallop Hexagon. The inside of my card has a layer created with the Stitched Hexagon Die. Perfect for writing your message onto it.
I am entering this in the following challenges:
1.) Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Layer it Up
2.) Word Art Wednesday Challenge #318-319 Anything Goes
3.) DL.ART January Linky Challenge-Anything Goes
4.) Hiding in My Craft Room Challenge #336 Color it

These are so beautiful, Sherrie!! The cardinals are so pretty!! I love the shape and the fabulous touches of sparkle!! Gorgeous winter cards!! I love, love them!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to get to your craft room!! I can't wait to see what you and Arya come up with for her classmates for Valentine's Day!! How fun to craft with her!! We are having the weirdest weather. It's 10 degrees one day and 50 the next. I get lulled into the warmer temps and then they drop again!! But as fast as the days are going by, it will be spring before I know it :) Thinking of you, dear friend, and keeping you and your family in my prayers always. Hugest hugs :)

What a great card! I'm impressed too with the shape of your card base--very unique! Thanks for linking this to #336 at HIMCR's 3rd Saturday of the month challenge. Becca~DT
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your computer. I think moving the files was my most time consuming part when I had to get a new one. Of course, once you get it organized it you almost forget all about the time it took. Good luck! Now...your shaped card is so pretty. I have the tendency to forget about making others, but I need to look at what I have in my collection.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the issues with the computer -- I seem to have a love/hate relationship with anything techy lately -- so I get it! LOL!! I loveeeeeeeeee these cards! LOVING the shape and the cardinals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry! So glad you managed to squeeze in a little time to play in your craft room. I'm with you completely... can't believe January is almost over already and struggling to find enough time to craft. So sorry to hear about your computer issues, too. Hope everything goes much smoother with the new machine. :D

What a beautiful winter time card! I love the fun shape and pretty papers. And, that cardinal is just beautiful. This is a lovely card and the sparkle just adds that perfect finishing touch!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pair of shaped cards, Sherrie! I love the cardinal and how you've colored him. The ribbon looks fabulous and all the touches of snow make for a great wintry design! I hope you are staying warm. I am so pleased you are getting some crafty time. I had hoped to this weekend, but sadly the weekend passed without even 2 minutes in my Closet. I hope you have a wonderful week! (There's nothing like a smooth running computer--good for you!)
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so pretty Sherrie, Glad you found some time to craft. I have been crafting today. My husband was so sweet he made supper tonight. So that gives me even more time to spend in my craftroom.
